faith: catholic brain worms

my best friend had me play all three chapters of faith the other day and whewww it's a doozy (positive), it was worth the scratchy throat from reading aloud all the notes and to a degree the headache i got from powering through chapter three just over an hour after waking up. but no it's really good!!!! i love this kind of style for horror i think it's really charming and effective, and the sound design goes hand in hand in creating something unsettling despite how simplistic it seems. a part i hated but loved was having to use the flash of a camera to briefly light up the room in intervals to navigate the building, absolutely awful it's a great horror gimmick (and reminds me a little of a scene from the first saw movie).

i had the most trouble with the first miriam fight - i had to keep my boy garcia alive....how am i gonna make out sloppy style with that old man if he's dead - and just...the Entire elevator segment in chapter three, good lord . the apartment boss fights weren't even that bad i just hated going up and down over and over again. 

honestly i thought i would be way worse but i actually did alright, somehow i ended up beating the final boss on first try??? wild. i've yet to fully grasp all the lore since all the notes are pretty scattered, i always recognised names but didn't make the exact link lmao. i gotta rewatch flaw peacocks videos on this, i do think it's really interesting and john seems to be a fascinating unreliable narrator/protag. also the fanart for this series is insane, i guess catholicism just does that to artists.
