film cooper makes a very interesting type of video . they cover topics and “controversies” of creators doing things such as sedual assualt and p3d0philia. Fine, there are plenty of people who do that, but i find myself completely appalled at the attitude they bring to the conversation. often times they sprinkle into the videos badly-timed jokes and tangents having to do with pop culture amidst the actual information about the crimes they’re talking about. This is something i’ve noticed for a long time in youtube culture, and it’s done cross-genres, not only do u see this commonly in these comedy reaction channels but also on the “horror” side of youtube, with channels like mamamax doing the “catch a predator ” bullshit. neither of these creators ever think of contacting the authorities for these things, they just talk about them like they would any other small internet controversy. I find that a lot of the time their tones come off as arrogant, with this sort of performative air of reacting to it without really giving any helpful insight to the case. They treat serious crimes like content. not to mention I feel like i don’t have to explain why it’s a problem that this guy is monetizing videos where they spread awareness about shit like this
why i hate content creators like film cooper
