I absolutely love music, I think I might listen to music more often than I breathe. I like to think that my music taste is pretty broad. I listen to most genres. I guess the main exception would be, like, sea shanties?? They just sound creepy to me, I'm sorry...
Anyway, I see people say 'I listen to all genres except country' a lot. That's always confused me, I never knew that country was such a hated genre? Especially since it's so popular. I like country music, there's plenty of great country songs out there. I think people just don't give it a fair try.
Speaking of popular music, people don't appreciate the high school musical soundtrack as much as they should. High school musical has good songs. Even if some are better than others, I still think all of them are at least good. That's more than can be said about many other children's musical songs.
Since we're on the topic of Disney, I wanna mention that one song from wish, 'this is the thanks I get' was the name of it I think. I've never seen wish, but I heard the song a ton after it went viral. I don't think it's a bad song, just bad by Disney standards. Also, the song does not sound like lin manuel miranda, idk what y'all are on about. If lin had written the music for wish, it would've sounded worlds better.
I also saw a lot of people comparing the song to past Disney villain songs, which in some cases made sense, but there were also people comparing the song to hellfire from the hunchback of notre dame, and like, that's just unfair. Firstly, they are such tonally different movies, and secondly, hellfire is a masterpiece, most Disney songs don't sound or look as cool in comparison...
That's all for now!
