PERSONALITY

If Pico is paranoid, then what is Otis? A timid, trembling, terrified animal-like guy with a strange deep interest in bugs. If you're going hiking or sightseeing, he's on top of it! As long as he gets to control every facet of the trip besides the trivial things. Otis is a caring, sensitive, intense creature with a strange, misplaced sense of justice, and finds himself trying much too hard to be cool and appealing. An average guy, just with a bunch of bumps and bruises. Don't you love him?

BACKGROUND

Cancer is a nasty fucker, and it took his mother, Anette, when he was the ripe age of around four years old. His father, Reginald, had an active yet busy hand in his upraising, thankfully, along with his then-sister-now-meth-head-brother Ramona (now Simon) who sat in for the role of mother, not only for himself but for his cousin, Pico. One day, however, Ramona simply just... left without a word to enlist in the military (what could she do when she couldn't take it anymore?). They were somewhat old enough to understand, but not old enough to forgive.

As time pasted, Otis grew up as a punching-bag of Pico's, only getting to escape when he finally graduated high-school and left on his way to college to be a teacher. He met a beautiful, wonderful woman he eventually claimed as his wife while away, one he hiked with and shared his most fond and exhilarating moments with, and was even going to be a father... Until he wasn't. Until the same thing that claimed his mother claimed his beloved, and took their unborn child with it.

Was it bad luck, or was he destined to be miserable?

He still doesn't know the answer. His father died after a sudden heart-attack, perhaps a year or so after, and only he is left the house in Philadelphia, and the comic book store he owned. Not wanting to look at the empty crib and the other half of the matching recliner set that belonged to his love, he reluctantly decided to move back.

Now he lives in his childhood home, with his cousin he barely recognizes, and his "sister" who was now the most unfamiliarly-familiar, horrifying amalgamation of a schizophrenic man who dithered between losing his mind and giving him false hope.
