♡ anime figure prices and dolls

I'm not really much of a collector, but I've been following the anime figure industry pretty closely for a while and it seems like the prices just keep rising and rising, like, a ridiculous amount. I know prices are always bound to go up over time, it just shocked me a little. It seems like 20,000 - 30,000 yen is becoming a somewhat average price for a scale figure. 

I don't really have an issue with that in most cases though. As I said, prices were always bound to go up, and the quality of figures has definitely gotten higher over the years as well. I especially noticed the quality increase in prize figures though. So many of them are so big and dynamic, with great paint jobs and sculpting, so worth the price. 

However... Sometimes I see a scale figure or a prototype for one and I wonder... Why on earth do they expect anyone to pay that price for that?! One egregious example from recently was the furyu f:nex nurse figure of power and makima from chainsaw man. Now, I've never seen chainsaw man, but judging from the way the prototypes look, I can't imagine that the figure is doing either of the characters justice. It looks horrid. And it's like 50,000 yen! Haven't seen any images of the actual figure yet, so I'm hoping it looks better in person. 

It seems like furyu keeps over pricing their f:nex figures. It makes no sense how they price them. Some figures are big and have cool bases and creative poses, and they'll cost the same amount or less than a far more boring figure. I think I first noticed this when I was reading a review of the f:nex figure of chizuru from rent-a-girlfriend. She was super cute, and pretty good quality, and the price was also pretty decent, like 15,000 yen (I still wouldn't buy her for that much but it's far better than other figures I've seen (also, her price has gone up now, I see her being sold for about 20,000 now)) 

That makes me think about older figures prices. I could be wrong, but it appears that the average price of a scale figure was around 8,000 to 10,000. Obviously there's still older figures that were super expensive on release though. I can't help but wonder, if that figure of power and makima had come out a longer time ago, and the price was lower, if I would've actually considered it worth the price? 

The answer is probably not. I still think it looks weird, maybe my opinion will change after I see actual images of it though, who knows. 

On the topic of shopping and anime related items, I'm about to buy my first azone pure neemo doll! I'm so excited for her to arrive. I fell in love with her at first sight, the outfit is adorable, it looks like something I'd wear irl. I really like azone dolls, as I've yet to see one that I don't think is cute. I can't say I'm the biggest fan of the iris collect line, but that's simply because I find inset eyes to be a bit creepy (despite this, I have a whole collection of porcelain dolls with inset eyes... I must hate myself). 

As for other future purchases, I'm saving up my money for something, but I can't choose between two things. I either want the sailor moon kaiyodo cold cast figure, or the sailor moon dollfie dream. All things considered, they'll probably end up costing me similar amounts.
