What I Plan to Do for My Life

What do I plan to do for my life? What is my vision for the future? I would like to be a man of the truth. I would like to establish a future for my children in a world where false information and propaganda is dominant. I would like to show them how to understand what is right and what is wrong.

I would like to show them what it means to love freedom while also recognizing authority. To love freedom doesn’t mean to disregard the safety and wellbeing of other people in the name of personal liberty. To recognize authority doesn’t mean to blindly do the bidding of a man in power. To love freedom while also recognizing authority means to exercise freedom while also respecting other people’s freedom to do the same and to recognize when people of high status have your best interests in mind. The COVID-19 pandemic and the civil unrest that happened on Capitol Hill have only served to reveal the value of this principle.

I would like to also make myself a better man for the future. We need more honest people. It is my dream that people can be better connected with each other. We are living in a time of crisis. Because of this, the value of trust in one another is needed now more than ever.

What is trust? Trust is when you have the certainty and security that the other person has your best interests in mind. Why is trust important? Trust is important because in a time of crisis, you need to know who you can count on to help you to live through the difficulties you may have to face. Without trust, nobody can make it through hardship.

But how should our sense of trust work? Trust needs to be based on an already established history of reliability and dependability in order to work out. Blind faith in authority does not benefit anybody. But we must also be sure not to become paranoid from believing in conspiracy theories, either, as that is also a form of blind faith. Therefore, we must learn to truly understand the thoughts and feelings of other people through open and honest communication in order for trust to be put in its proper place.

What am I interested in that might have an important place in a futuristic world? I’m interested in technical analysis. What is technical analysis? Technical analysis is when you can analyze data by observing statistics on a chart. Day trading and investing is usually what comes to mind first whenever technical analysis is discussed, but there are other applications for technical analysis beyond financial speculation.

For example, technical analysis can also be used for analyzing the infection rates of a virus during a pandemic. The conclusions made from the data could be used to determine what strategies would be the best for stopping the spread of disease in different regions. But sometimes, data can be misleading if it is out of context. And misleading data can lead to poor conclusions if there is no proper context to go with it. Therefore, it is important for the full context of data to be observable in a study.

For example, the total coronavirus infection cases for Mexico and India, back in February 4, 2021, were 174,962 and 177,163, respectively. Because the coronavirus statistics have been taken out of context, an observer could conclude that nationwide lockdowns are ineffective strategies for controlling the virus. However, if you were to take population size into consideration before drawing conclusions, the outcome of the study would be way different. The contemporary population of Mexico in 2021 was 130,262,216, whereas India’s contemporary population was 1,393,409,038. Mexico did not initiate a nationwide lockdown and had 13% of its population get infected. India did initiate a nationwide lockdown and had only 1% of its population get infected. Therefore, nationwide lockdowns are very effective strategies for controlling the virus.

But for technical analysis to be effective, it isn’t just important to know the skill. You need to have the honesty to go with it. As I have demonstrated in the above example, it is very easy to lie with statistics. We need to have a new generation of honest people in the workplace. And I would be happy to be a part of that generation.
