a poem i wrote about my time in seville

A merciless sun beat down on me

I pushed further up the path

It was a nice skatepark, but the heat encompassed me, crushed me

A Spanish girl with green eyes,

a homeless man in his bare feet

and a drunk asleep by the fountain

I spoke to the girl; she was in her 20s

from the south, but down here for a week

She was pretty; her dress danced around her legs

Meanwhile, a homeless man with dark skin

wandered through the empty car park

by an abandoned building

and the drunk slept soundly.
