Some of my favourite metalcore albums that I recommend to beginners

I told myself I would start blogging more so here we go.

Metalcore is a genre near and dear to the hearts of many, myself included. Ever since emerging in underground punk scenes in the 90s, the genre has evolved a lot over the years. Some of my favourite albums from the 2000s era of metalcore (my personal fav) are the following:

Killswitch Engage - As Daylight Dies

One of the greatest metalcore albums of all time, and most definitely the best work from Killswitch. Howard's vocals really stand out here. No metalcore vocalist has been able to capture that vibe of his voice that only he can pull off. Every tiny detail of this album is beautifully made. If I had to recommend an album to someone who's never listened to metalcore before, it's this one.

August Burns Red - Constellations

Another incredible album. ABR aren't spoken enough about in the modern day scene imo. This album is truly incredible (as a drummer I adore this one the most) from the vocals to the instrumentals to the mixing. Definitely worth a try for anyone interested in a good album.

Bullet For My Valentine - The Poison

My favourite album of all time, not only for metalcore albums but for any genre. Bullet are easily my favourite band ever and this album is a huge reason for it. Ever since I first heard it I've been completely infatuated with it. The best way to experience this record is listening in tracklist order. The intro is a beautiful song with Apocalyptica, another amazing band. I cannot recommend this album enough.

Atreyu - The Curse

Atreyu were huge back in the 2000s but faded in popularity after their 4th record. 2004's The Curse is a true classic for metalcore fans and emos alike. Atreyu are another one of my favourite bands, featuring 2 singers (one also being their drummer at the same time) the clean and unclean vocals really shine here. Brandon Saller has an amazing voice and it really shows on this record.

Avenged Sevenfold - Waking The Fallen

Do I even need to say anything? Like, at all? Just go listen to it if you somehow haven't already.

Asking Alexandria - Stand Up And Scream

Maybe not everyone's choice, but one of my personal favourites. I mean I'm british what do you expect, the only good thing about this country is the metal we birthed.

All pretty surface level and well known albums and bands, but my favourites nonetheless. I was tempted to put some Parkway Drive, All That Remains, blessthefall, and BMTH on here but decided against it.
