i did no review before writing this. this will almost be 100% wrong.

dpr ian is also openly diagnosed w bipolar disorder and DID

half of this is 2 am delusion from like half a year ago

dpr ian is a music arist and the director of music videos under DPR (dream perfect regime). he's known for his outlandish style of mv directing, and a lot of it is shown in his own music videos. his "world" consists of 4 main characters, but 5 in total

characters (that i know of):

★ ian

★ mr insanity

★ miss understood

★ scaredy cat

★ mito

basically, in the beginning, there was mr insanity. he was the god of this universe, and created two worlds. the normal world, and the other side. mr insanity created these characters (listed above). he created a protector, mito, he created fear scaredy cat, he created miss understood, a potential love interest that fell through due to his issues, and ian, the human. 

the world is this mixture of contrasting emotions. you have these two powerful beings on opposing sides who are as different as you can make them. mr insanity is the definition of being on a power high. hes powerful and unpredictable. he really doesnt care, compared to the moody and dark mito, the failed experiment, the fallen angel. 

but in addition to those powerful beings, you have ian and scaredy cat. they are human. they dont know whats going on in this crazy world they were dropped in, because of this ongoing battle between mito and mr insanity.

what was the point of ian?

ian is sort of the manifestation of dpr ian. because mito and mr insanity represent his manic highs and lows, ian is caught between these two worlds. he is constantly being dragged to this "other side" without knowing, and is getting trapped there until he is let free. in these unwelcome trips, he sees other worldly things, and tries his best to escape this world. 

in the no blueberries music video, you can see ian eating his ice cream in the intro, but upon seeing the blueberries, he is tranported into this other world where he's running from this monster (blueberry monster). he returns back to the normal world, where everything is right where it belongs, but the scars and bruises he received while trying to escape the world still remain. 

in the mood music video (located in the mito movie pt 1), you can see ian again, popping pills to get rid of the voices in his head. these voices may be from the other side, trying to get him to do something. however, once he ventures outside of his room, he is stabbed by a floating knife. once he comes back on screen, ian is no longer ian, and is replaced with this inbetween of ian and mr insanity. 

okay, now what abt scaredy cat

scaredy cat (my personal favorite) is the definition of fear. in the scaredy cat music video, you see him jumping around in a straitjacket and dancing with a gun. scaredy cat is the most similar to ian out of all of the characters as he seems to be able to see or hear what is going with mr insanity and mito. it seems like scaredy cat often fluctuates between mito or mr insanity as well, and like how ian was triggered by the blueberries, scaredy cat is triggered by mirrors, as he doesnt understand whats going on or who he is.

so basically, in mito and miito (the albums), the story line revolves around the character ian. however, in dpr ians newest album, dear insanity, its an entire story line following mr insanity and mito which i wont be learning cause i need to sleep
