Well,i'm not an expert at this either,but here,in the SpaceHey,it's easier to talk to people who have similar interests since they often mention those in their profiles.It takes a while to find like-minded people but is worth it
Also being active like writing blogs/responding to someone's blogs might work too 'cause of having even more chance of people interacting with you 👾
