I Just Don't Get It

Why do I (instead of watching the anime I have on DVD, just sitting on my shelf, wasting away covered in dust), spend my time searching for videos on YouTube, about said anime, spending hours upon hours listening to others talk about their own opinions when I could have used that same time to just watch the anime myself?

I own it. I have owned it for a while. I would very much enjoy watching it. And instead I would rather watch other people just talk about it.

I just don't get it.
