d. binocularis

in the very few images i have seen of this fish, they all seem so different. the preserved specimen has slightly elongated, frail pectoral fins. in the illustration, the fins are significantly enlarged... which would be inaccurate. i recall reading a book about animals, and the image appears to be based off of a related genus, dolichopteryx. are these faults of the specimen's condition, or an inexperienced person?

sorry about the inconsistency of the images, i dont know how to upload files properly.
