For me, it's more exciting to learn about Eastern Christianity than Western Christianity. Maybe this is subjective but those eastern churches have a richer history. The differences between these two are many, especially in culture, language and politics, as well as theology.

if you mean orthodox christianity, it and the Catholic Church used to be one- so while they have some differences, it's not a whole lot. the only major differences either church has are with later western denominations
