37 Feel-Good Anime

I’ve watched so many feel-good anime, that I felt like listing 37 of them. These anime all range from “OK” to “Extraordinary”.

Kantai Collection: Kancolle
One of the biggest anime franchises ever, in terms of fan art produced. This anime is cute. It’s got some action and some slice-of-life moments. I gave it a 6.3/10. It’s an OK anime, but there were several moments I liked.

My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1
It is one of those generic isekai anime, but it is still a feel-good anime. I actually enjoyed this anime more than I did In The Land of the Leadale, even though that anime has better quality.

Oreshura
I forgot that this harem anime existed, but I did enjoy watching it. It’s your typical early 2010s school slice-of-life romance harem anime.

Miss Shachiku and the Little Baby Ghost
This anime was designed to tackle work stress by showcasing a character who has work stress so bad, that it’s speculated that she’s almost dying. Maybe some adorable apparitions can help bring life back to that work-life balance. Too bad it’s kind of bland.

Comic Psychosomatic Medicine
Who says learning about educational material can’t be funny? This anime is all about learning about mental illnesses, many of which are sexual.

She and Her Cat: Everything Flows
Now we’re getting into the real feel-good anime. This anime is designed to be soothing, and it is, but I don’t find it particularly appealing or memorable. The title describes what the anime is about.

Daily Lives of High School Boys
These high school boys seem nicer than the high school boys I had in high school. They’re more like PG-13-rated boys rather than R-rated boys. And this anime’s feel-good component comes from its comedy. It’s an overrated anime, but it’s definitely not bad. Comedy is subjective, after all.

Sora no Method
Sora no Method/Celestial Method is on here for one reason: Noel. She had an adorable voice and had long light blue hair. She’s one of the cutest anime girls ever, and she did get a decent amount of fan art. While Sora no Method is a drama, it’s not as sad as Anohana.

Sweetness and Lightning
This anime is about a teacher and his 5-year-old daughter. With the assistance of one of his students, they learn how to cook. This is a very clean anime all about Japanese cooking, though it’s not really for me.

Encouragement of Climb
This is a well-made CGDCT anime about girls climbing mountains in Japan. It’s soft and filled with cute moments.

Strawberry Marshmallow
What makes Strawberry Marshmallow stand out from other CGDCT anime is that according to MyAnimeList, this was the third CGDCT series. It was released in 2005, and the main cast consisted entirely of children. Don’t worry, I’m sure the characters were old enough to watch their own anime.

Dragon Goes House-Hunting
Fantasy adventure anime can be chill, and Dragon Goes House-Hunting is one good example of this. It’s about a dragon who goes house hunting with another guy.

Flip Flappers
This anime is the definition of bright and colorful. Its biggest selling point is its art and animation. It’s almost like going through a fun art exhibit. That would make most people feel better.

Love Lab
Love Lab is an anime about a group of girls who try to get a girl to have a boy fall for her. More comedy slice-of-life stuff can lift anyone’s mood. This anime isn’t that memorable, as there were tons of school club anime coming out.

Amanchu!
This is another one of those slice-of-life school club anime, but it takes place underwater. Well, not always, but it’s a refreshing slice-of-life anime that falls squarely in the Iyashikei genre.

Honobono Log
Sure, it’s very short, but it’s also very sweet. It’s a bunch of short stories involving families. And while the art and animation are different compared to typical anime, it doesn’t change that it made me feel good.

Aria the Animation
It’s yet another CGDCT anime, and critics love it. This anime takes place on Mars in Neo-Venezia, but it focuses more on the characters and setting than the sci-fi elements.

Flying Witch
This anime takes place in the countryside in the modern day. It has this relaxing tone, though it may be a bit scary at times.

Scorching Ping-Pong Girls
At the time of its release, Scorching Ping-Pong Girls was praised for its animation. Too bad it never got a sequel. If you love cute anime girls, clean anime, and some mildly intense scenes, then this is for you.

My Senpai is Annoying
Want a feel-good workplace romance anime without the workplace stress? Then My Senpai is Annoying is for you! I can say with confidence that this anime is more wholesome than Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.

Chi’s Sweet Home: Chi’s New Address
Another short anime with simplistic animation, but there’s 104 episodes! This is one of the most wholesome anime ever made.

Aharen-san wa Hakarenai
This is a normal romance slice-of-life school anime that has comfy vibes.

Silver Spoon
Moving to a new location can be stressful, but this slice-of-life anime highlights the positive experiences of moving. There is a bit of drama, but it’s nothing too serious. It still is a slice-of-life after all with plenty of comedy.

Is the Order a Rabbit? (GochiUsa)
Chino-chan is extremely cute. Aside from its adorable fan art, Is the Order a Rabbit is known for being one of the most peaceful anime I’ve ever seen. It takes place in a European-styled city and is known for its sheer cuteness.

Nichijou
Most anime fall somewhere on the spectrum between pure iyashikei and pure comedy. While GochiUsa is somewhere in the middle, Nichijou falls squarely in the comedy end. Nichijou is so wacky and yet full of charm.

Azumanga Daioh
This is the point where the feel-good anime really becomes super enjoyable. Azumanga Daioh was the first CGDCT anime series, and it was very fun to watch! I watched it in 2016 when CGDCT anime was very popular, and it’s better than most of these anime. I believe that Azumanga Daioh still holds the test of time to this day, especially since it clearly has a retro nostalgic feel to to.

Hanamaru Kindergarten
This just might be the cutest anime of the 2010s, but the cuteness is a different kind of cuteness from GochiUsa. In this anime, the kindergarteners are portrayed as chibis, and the school is so bright and colorful!

Yuru Camp
This anime has become one of the most iconic CGDCT series ever made, and it lies more on the pure iyashikei side of things. It’s about cute anime girls camping.

The World God Only Knows
Dating sims are a popular type of game within otaku culture, and this anime is about a boy who is extremely good at those kinds of games. Except this time, some supernatural events happen, and this boy now has to date girls to remove those supernatural events. It’s very funny and a lot of fun to watch.

Croisee in a Foreign Labyrinth
I often bring this anime up as one of my most underrated anime of all time. It’s about a Japanese girl who moves to Paris in the 1800s and makes some lifestyle adjustments. It’s a peaceful slice-of-life anime that is a delight to watch.

BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, So I’ll Max Out My Defense
This anime feels as fun as playing an awesome video game! It’s about a girl named Maple who plays in the VRMMORPG known as New World Online. She maxes out her defense, becomes overpowered, and makes new friends along the way. Despite all the action, this anime has virtually no stakes.

Squid Girl
Squid Girl is a feel-good anime for its comedy and its slice-of-life vibes. It’s about a squid who wants revenge on humanity for polluting the oceans, but her plans are not executed. Having watched it in 2015, I already feel nostalgic about this fish out of water anime that has lots of cute and funny moments.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
A feel-good anime so hilarious, that it has helped me through a difficult time 6 years ago. It’s about an overpowered psychic who just wants a normal life. There are so many quirky characters and funny moments.

Yuru Yuri♪♪
This is my favorite anime sequel! It’s your typical CGDCT anime, but it’s heavier on the yuri than the typical CGDCT, which is why it has the name. The first season was decent, but the second season was hilarious and awesome! Akari is one of the funniest characters of anime! I watched it 8 years ago, and I had such a wonderful time!

Kaguya-Sama: Love is War
This is such a wonderful series, and the main reason why it’s there is because of the Season 3 finale. The anime is about a boy and a girl in the student council who are in love with each other, but then the first to confess their feelings loses. It’s presented in such an entertaining and exaggerated way. Seasons 1 and 2 are a lot of fun to watch. And while the middle portions of Season 3 felt slow, the final episodes felt like a gift from heaven!

Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle
The most feel-good anime out there are the ones that provide me with the best laughs, and Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle is no exception. It’s about a princess who gets kidnapped by the Demon Lord, but she only really needs one thing: A perfect sleep.

No Game No Life
And finally, we end this list with my most feel-good anime. I’m so glad I rewatched this anime in 2023. It’s still one of the greatest isekai anime of all time, and it is extremely fun to watch! I love the characters, and I love the games! It’s too bad that we’re not getting a Season 2 anytime soon.
