Hello guys ! Welcome to my little blog. ₊˚⊹♡
So a few months back I kinda developed an interest in old tech and games but it all seemed very intimidating to me. Then I thought what better way to ease into this interest of mine than buying an old gaming console (especially since I never really got to own any games or consoles as a kid, even though I really really wanted to) ! I decided on a pink NDS lite ! 
It's homebrew so it has Gameboy, GBA and Sega games on it. Pretty neat ! It also came with 1000+ nds games pre-installed and I can install more using the ndsromset on the internet archive. Here are some mini-reviews of the games I have played so far (rated out of 5 •ᴗ•'s) :
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney:

i have heard that if you ever owned a ds and never played ace attorney, you failed at life,, so i knew i had to try it ! i binged the first game and finished it in a few days. really fun. nice courtroom drama and fun gameplay.
Kirby Superstar Ultra:

another popular game ! it's so cute and fun and found it to be just the right amount of challenging. i also like how the main game doesn't try so hard to incorporate the ds touchscreen thingy as much as some other games because that can get kinda annoying !
Cooking Mama:

it's a cool little game. kinda reminds me of the stuff i used to play on girlsgogames back in the flash games era.
GTA Chinatown Wars:

this is one of the games i was looking forward to playing the most ! i got stuck during one of the missions and can't progress :/ but it's so fun, especially as someone who's a bit older than the demographic that most ds games were made for, i found this to be one of my favorites. the writing isn't as good as the other gta games but it's still decent and the gameplay is fun.
Rhythm Paradise:

fun but harder than i expected. made me wanna chuck my ds across the room several times. kind of a blow to my ego since i'm taking guitar and singing lessons at the moment. i think i should be better at a rhythm game. ( • - • ) ...
Ghost Trick:
rating: •ᴗ• •ᴗ• •ᴗ• •ᴗ•
underrated gem ! it's a puzzle game, made by the same guy who created ace attorney, so it has that mystery/detective element to it. you basically wake up as a ghost, with an ability to possess inanimate objects and looking 4 minutes into the past of any current event. the storyline (!!) and gameplay are both awesome !

ohh my gawd I am so jelly I have a ds lite but mine is not home-brewed aghhhhh!! still I will be buying so many more gamesss I love that thing I swear it keeps you so entertained for hours eps if she's home-brewed !! thats sooo awesome - have you played any other games since ?
recently i tried a disney fairies game on it and it was super cute ! reminded me of my pixie hollow days
also just in case you didn't know: there's a way to download games on the ds for free using the internet archive. i can tell you how or you can just look it up if you'd like ! that's how i get games on my dsl

so basically you're gonna need a tiny sd card reader ! you can get it for really cheap. you insert it into your computer (the usb side), go to archive.org/download/nds-romset and download any game that you want. then you unzip the file and move it to the sd card. insert the sd card into the ds and you should have the game ! lmk if you need any more help <3

I really recommend trying maybe play "The world ends with you" on NDS!
