Another blog by Nehiri yours truly, another blog no one cares about lmfao I like voicing my opinions.
I will add my opinions on as to why as I listen to these songs one by one.
The
songs will be ranked relative to each other and not overall quality. If
it was overall quality then every song A tier and above would be S+
tier.
Also I have literally no musical knowledge so I may
repeat myself sometimes cuz idk what else to say lmao. All these reviews
are surface level and solely based on if I like them or not
Smell of The Game: This
is THE -Strive- song and by far one of the best ones. It has the hype,
motion and soul of this game embedded into it along with the iconic
"Mankind knew that they cannot change society. So instead of reflecting
on themselves, they blamed the beasts" line being part of the song.
Absolute banger, S tier.
Find Your One Way: Sol
Badguy's theme, it has the vibe of Sol Badguy himself AND how it feels
to play Sol Badguy. Just volcanic viper-ing your enemies and dragon
uninstalling them with heavy mob cemetery. Both the instrumental and the
vocals make you jump in your seat as you listen to it. Another banger, S+ tier.
The Roar of the Spark: Ky
Kiske's theme. Honestly, it took me a while to get warmed up to this
song but I can safely say that this is an amazing song now. The "This
road shines with my colors" part is so well sang it sends a shiver down
my spine every time. As much as I praise it, I'm gonna have to put it to
A tier. It just doesn't have the same kick as other S tier songs.
Disaster of Passion: May's
theme. This is gonna be heavily biased since she's my main so I hear
this song like 40 times a day during matches. It's crazy to me that
NAOKI and Arc managed to write a love song and put it in a god damn
fighting game but it's here and it works flawlessly. Amazing song,
10/10. S+ tier, still below Find Your One Way.
Out of the Box: Axl
Low's theme. Ehh... It was alright. Didn't really blow me away, it was
just okay. The chorus is nice but the verses were pretty meh. Wish I
could say more but it was just an okay song lol. C tier.
Play the Hero: Chipp Zanuff's theme. Holy mother of ninjas this song goes so hard. When the chorus hits, it really makes you yell "FIGHT LIKE A TIGER, WALK IN THE PARK. PLAY THE HERO, 'TIL I DIE. FLY LIKE AN EAGLE, SOAR THROUGH THE SKY! BE FREE 'TIL YOU DIE" Not just the chorus but the verses are also so good in the song. It's an absolute masterpiece. S+ tier, even above Find Your One Way.
Armor-Clad Faith: Potemkin's theme. It has some very slow and weak feeling parts but the song overall is really good. Can't help but scream "ARMOR-CLAD FAAAAAAITH"
every time I witness a Potemkin Buster. The lyrics also go so hard,
both listening to the vocals and singing them is so much fun. S tier, above Smell of the Game.
Alone Infection: Faust's
theme. Faust is a weird guy and his song is equally weird lol. Both the
song's energy and lyrics. It's fun to listen to but isn't really great.
Don't got much else to say about it. C Tier, above Out of the Box.
Love the Subhuman Self:
Millia Rage's theme. This is another song that I couldn't warm up to
that easily but once I did, I realized how much of a god damn banger it
is. My only problem with it is that the beginning instrumental is too
long so during rounds that go by too fast, you almost never hear the
lyrical parts. B tier.
Let Me Carve Your Way: Zato-1's
theme. This song goes so hard for no reason. It's not a masterpiece,
nowhere close but holy mother of The Original the vibes and energy this
song gives is fantastic. Especially knowing Zato-1's story and character
you can't help but just... feel something. Great song, S tier, above Armor-Clad Faith.
Necessary Discrepancy: Ramlethal
Valentine's theme. A really good song that starts off kinda weak
honestly. But the later parts where the song really picks up really puts
you in the mood for a good fight. I wish I had more to say but it's
just a good song lmao. A tier below Roar of the spark.
Hellfire: Leo
Whitefang's theme. This song holds no punches back, it gets straight
into it. The first few notes of the song immediately makes you think "oh
hell yeah, now I'm pumped up". The song name is extremely accurate
because this truly is fire. A tier, above Road of the Spark.
What do you fight for:
Nagoriyuki's theme. I feel like there's only one way to describe this
song and it's just... Damn, this really is Nagoriyuki's theme. The song
fits the man's vibes so well and the song itself is also really good. It
has a consistent quality that doesn't drop any point in the song. B tier below Love the Subhuman Self.
Trigger: Giovanna's
theme. A song that differs from the others for a character who doesn't
really care about fitting in. I honestly love the uniqueness of this
song of this song despite it not exactly being my favorite. It's cool
that it's unique and it fits really well, but it's just not my taste
lol. C tier above Alone Infection
Rock Parade:
Anji Mito's theme. This song really sounds like something I'd like but
for some reason I can't get into it at all. I think the instrumentals
are just not doing it for me. Listened to the whole thing and it just
failed the catch my attention at any moment. Our first D tier.
Requiem: I-No's
theme. A song I used to absolutely despise but right now it's one of my
favorites. The song switches between different vibes but somehow keeps
the same energy throughout. Even when it slows then you still feel the
hype in you. And the guitar solo that starts at 2:56 makes you feel
absolute bliss. What a song man, S+ tier above Disaster of Passion.
The Kiss of Death: Goldlewis
Dickinson's theme. Honestly? I've only played against Goldlewis a
handful of times so I never heard this song in game but god DAMN this
was a pleasant surprise. The instrumental and the vocals are both
lovely, it kept my head bobbing up and down to the rhythm the wholes
song. S tier, below Smell of the Game.
Perfection Can't Please Me: Jack-O Valentine's theme... Man this song blows lmao, nothing else to say. D tier below Rock Parade.
Drift: Happy
Chaos' theme. A very goofy song with an absolute banger beginning. The
song is all over the place which is on par with the character. Sadly,
that doesn't make me like the song any more lol, it's good but really
can't get used to how all over the place it is. All I can say is, it
took him 10 years to find the answer to something... And he forgor about
it in 2 seconds. C tier above Trigger.
Mirror of the World: Baiken's
theme. Baiken... sweetie I love you, I really love you but your theme
is really bad lmao. Sure I feel like an ancient samurai while listening
to it but it's just not good. It takes so long for the lyrics or the
song itself to start that I sometimes forget the song is more than just a
few strings of note. D tier above Rock Parade.
Like a Weed, Naturally, as a Matter of Course:
Testament's theme. Testament is a character that's been growing on me
recently and this song was like 25% of the reason why that started. It's
a really good song with really funky lyrics and instrumental. A tier below Necessary Discrepancy.
The Town Inside Me: Bridget's
theme. What the hell is this song man. It genuinely just sounds like
they grabbed something out of high school musical or something and put
it in Guilty Gear. This sounds like a song where the crowd snaps their
fingers instead of clap at the end of it. Genuinely feels so out of
place and low quality compared to every other song in this game. D tier, below Perfection Can't Please Me.
The Hourglass: Sin
Kiske's theme. Pretty good song that didn't exactly blow me away but
it's pleasant to listen to. It's one of those songs where you'd like it
in game but never think about adding to your playlist. B tier below Love the Subhuman Self.
The Circle: Bedman?'s
theme. This god damn song is so funny to me man, I love playing a match
with my friends and going "IIIII SEEEE THE CIIIIIRCLEEEEE" and the
"IIII'M HEEERE, IIII'M HEREE" is so much fun. The song overall is really
good but has some weak parts. Also I'm slightly biased since I love
Bedman and Bedman?. A tier, above Like a Weed, Naturally, as a Matter of Course.
The Gravity: Asuka
R#'s theme. I love Asuka so much, he's genuinely such a cool character
both in concept and gameplay. But his song is really weak and that's
deeply upsetting in my opinion. My man Asuka deserved better. D tier,
below Rock Parade.
Just Lean:
Johnny's theme. Now I'm gonna be really biased here since Johnny is my
absolute favorite Guilty Gear character... except my bias won't mater
cuz Just Lean is an absolute masterpiece of a song! Both the
vocals, the instrumental and the meaning behind the lyrics combine to
make this gem of a song. There are only so many characters in fiction
that are so self centered and arrogantly confident that they call
themselves "The man hated by the god of failure" in their own song. S+ tier above everything.
Extras: Elphelt
Valentine's theme. Oh man, I was expecting a good song for Elphelt and
it did NOT disappoint. This song genuinely terrifies me when it comes to
one thing and it's the fact that it only has one vocalist. Both the
metal voice and the regular voice are the same person and I'm like
"WHAAAT, HOW DID SHE DO THAT" which I guess fits with Elphelt's vibes in
game lol. But yeah this song is a total banger, S+ tier, below Play the Hero.
And
for now, that's all she wrote folks! I'll make sure to add more songs
as more characters are added to the game. I really hope you liked my
dumb ramblings, make sure to give kudos or something idk. Thanks for
reading!

I don't play Guilty Gear, but I sent it to a guy who does, I know he agrees with Disaster of Passion, Extras, & the Town Inside Me.
When I showed him your tierlist he just said "based".

your friend is also very based cuz those 3 songs specifically have an absolutely perfect placement. Like some other songs can be tweaked a bit but those 3 are set in stone
