picked up Guards! Guards! because mutuals of my prev tumblr account recommended it to me after i shared how my local library has some of them.
pretty fun so far! almost 100 pages in within the first......... two days of picking it up!
i was planning on reading Mary Shelly's Frankenstein, Stoker's Dracula, and Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegurt (enjoying this one so much so far!), but discworld eclipsed my memory of Frankenstein, so i have yet to crack that book.
luckily there's a second copy of it at the library in case i exceed the borrow limit on the one i have now, but i did want to read it since i knew i took interest in frankenstein after learning how the iconic animal was from a book written by a lady who is not talked about often when it comes to horror authors. Plus ive been into epistolary because of Flowers for Algernon.
ive halted my progress on that book since they introduced Fay. sorta rubbed me the wrong way and im probably judging too early but it's like Ugh do we really need another lady to be the complimentary piece in this man's life who pushes him to live crazier than he already does. sort of doubt the book will pull anything to subvert it, unless they do. for now ive lost interest though. i do find it interesting that they let it foreshadow Charlie's possible loss of.... 'genius-ness'.?
also, rofl at the fact iasip charlie has the same named as Flowers for Algernon charlie gordon. they had an episode where charlie thought he was getting smarter. i think it was revealed the gang got some sort of poisoning that basically incapacitated them or something. like. almost literally by the end. i could be retelling that episode incorrectly.
