lately ive been on a big talking heads kcik, ive been playing more songs about buildings and food nonstpo! i love this album so much :D
it all started when "im not in love" fell in my way again thanks to my s.o.,, after a long while of not listening to any talking heas. i thought "woah, this song sonunds way cooler than what i remebered!" and nw im basically in love with "im not in love" xD the extended jam at the end fills me with joy
to me, the stretch that starts with "warning sign" and ends with "stay hungry" is the best they've put down on record imo
- i really liek how uneasy the guitars turn in the verses of "warning sign". the backwards reverb in the vocals also work wonders for this sensation :0
- "the girls want to be with the girls" simply sounds so bright and joyous, and i cant help but move alogn to that insistent beat
- at first it was the synth in the outro of "found a job" that really derew me in for that one, all icy and stuff :) the bass is also so yummy!
- the cold intro in "artists only" is realy exciting as well as how neurotic the vocals sound, and the middle-eight (or maybe middle-thirty-two :p) thing is also so engaging x)
- "im not in love" aside the jam at the end has this funnyy start-stop structure, and every tiem the loop goes around its so exciting when they all come back in
- then theres the sudden melodicnesss of "stay hungry", which of course shall be ditched for the jameed-out second half with its awesome dub sound (and im not so fond of dub :o)
so many greayt moments in this album!!! i love it so mcuh, and also as a musician its very inspiring for me :3 and i dont mean to disregard the improtance of remain in light with all its sonic experimentation, but to me more songs about buildings and food is their best album, at least in their not expanded, post-punk band format :)
