Hopefully none of my friends will cut ties with me just because of differences in political views. If you are my friend, you are my friend no matter how different your political views are from mine.

I agree to an extent. If they have different economic views or whatever its fine but if they disagree about something like if gay people and trans people should be able to be gay and trans then its a little too far and you need to cut them off.
