EGO

You figured the good-looking girl was out of your league, she was too good for                                                                       someone like you.

But you decided to go for it anyways; Going out on a whim and deciding to go for it.

She turned you down, said she wasn't looking for someone like you.

It didn't hurt one bit, someone like you would just shake it off. It's okay.

You managed to get into a relationship with some girl in your area.

She was weird, and a little funny, but at least she looked decent.

Sure, she wasn't the best looking, but she had her charms.

But you thought the weird, quirky, strange girl was desperate enough to stay with                                                                        someone like you.

She wasn't. Someone like you lacks proper self-respect.

You're heartbroken, this wasn't supposed to happen.

After blaming everyone and everything, after hating everything in the whole wide world..

   You stop.

Maybe you should look at yourself in the mirror.

You might be worse than you thought.

It looks like someone like you is in need of self-reflection.

y'know at first I thought this was just an edge lord piece but it really tied itself up in the end. great job! would love to hear more, ive always found the idea of ego interesting since it seems like it often makes or breaks someones perception of the world. so often do we get in our own heads that we dont consider how our own values tear apart our experiences in life
