Dell Latitude (2005)

I'm excited to say I'm making this post from a Latitude from 2005!  There is however, one problem:  when I insert a mini DVD RW into the disc drive, it doesn't detect the disc is there.  I know the drive works since I've used it for other things.  I was surprised at this issue since it should definitely be compatible with this laptop.  Despite that, it's working fine.  Solitaire has been fun and I made my own artwork in Paint. 

If anyone has ever had similar issues with the mini DVDs in drive, I'd love to chat!
