Skillet are a shitty band of plagiarists, here's why:

Anyway, welcome, I hope I didn't burst your bubble but yes John Cooper is racist, and also the band was always bad. You might say "Oh but I like monster, it's a fun song," YEAH cause it's just a dogshit ripoff of Animal I have become by three days grace...AND NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT IT!

Seriously, you ask on reddit, and some dipshit goes "UHM ACKTUALLY THE CONCEPT OF HAVING A BEAST WITHIN YOU IS NOT THAT ORIGINAL", ignoring how Skillet stole 3DG's entire concept, melodic structure, all that, and SIMPLIFIED it's lyrics so that what was a poetic way to describe what is wrong with you, becoming "GRARGH THE MADNESS HAS BEGUN GRAGGHHH STOP THIS MONSTER!!" It's literally like they pulled out a thesaurus, you always end up with less interesting lyrics when you are trying to copy someone's homework.

Like, this is the worst offender, but not the only one, Hero by Skillet has an intro basically copying the melody from Linkin Park's Papercut. Sure this happens sometimes, you could even call it inspiration (see the Ratm and Led Zepellin debate), but when your most well known song is literally stealing from 3DG, naw, this ain't it.

Like I'm not gonna go through their entire discography, but I'm leaving this here as a reminder that Skillet are dogshit. Of course John Cooper would say I'm just being a woke libtard or some shit.
