I don't know much about the data leak stuff, but I can say that as somebody who has been on this site for a year, this place isn't the safest at the moment. It hasn't always been like this, though. Just a year ago, things were fairly normal. Lately (by that, I mean in the past few months), a few problematic users have been repeatedly creating gore accounts and accounts idolizing murderers. When they get banned, they like to come back. This site does not have the best moderation, so it often takes a while for these accounts to be banned. I'd recommend trying to hide the cool new people section (I don't remember the code for that, unfortunately) and looking out for users with the names nik/dec, reb, gee (or gee the silly), Micah, Dyl, and Cal. All of these users gave created either gore accounts or accounts idolizing murderers.

If you continue to stay on here, please look out for your safety. This place can be genuinely fun to be on as long as you're careful. I've met some really cool people on here and have had a lot of fun creating my account.

Coming back here to add this- If you see a blog that seems like bait, do not respond to it. Some people on here like to troll and create blogs that are purposefully meant to anger people. Responding to these blogs only encourages these people to continue trolling. Also, some people who have responded to blogs made by those in the TCC (TCC stands for true crime community; the people who create accounts idolizing murderers are often in this community) have been the victim of harassment campaigns (the people in the TCC like to create accounts impersonating other SpaceHey users who have responded to their blogs or otherwise angered them).
