✩ the unofficial gyaru beginner helpful series 01 ✩

hey hey!!! okay sooo like, im starting this new series from my last post! and i wanted to make another one since i'm already on a roll here! But this entry is getting into the various amounts of sub-styles! of course, I'll be using aliexpress again for this example! 

note: the sizing on aliexpress is either forgiving or a big fuck you to your size, im considered small in standards and yet i have difficulty finding sizes. keep that in mind while looking for stuff on aliexpress app, always know your measurements in CM!!! if ur plus size, always suggest the keywords: plus, oversized, 6xl, etc. since the sizing again, is really bad.

extra note: ALWAYS look at reviews, i try my hardest to suggest the items with at least a great amount of reviews, if not, always hunt similar items down to the exact detail that you as an individual want, AGAIN this is suggestions ^-^

sub-style 01 - kogal (コギャル / 高校生ギャル)

the start of nearly all gyaru styles, of course the rebellious school girls!! a classic beginner friendly or just really like the simple look of casual/nanchatte/jk uniform aesthetic! If this is the style you want, keep reading!!

Styling your JK uniform look to make it seem organic instead of costumey is the goal here because you want to treat this look like you can wear this anywhere you go! You don't really want the "ooh are you an anime girl?" comments since I've made those very mistakes as well. Thats a suggestion you'll thank me later on that, TRUST on that!

buuuut first, get your basics:

Cardigans of any size, cute collar blouses and even a full set with everything is a great start for getting your needs for your jk uniform started! Depending on the styling, if you're aiming for the gal variant of kogal, often cardigans are very oversized and so are the blouses! You want to measure yourself before getting these items so you can at least aim for that style! And of course comfort 100% For colors I suggest beige, navy, cream and any bright color like pink, purple or blue! 

Skirts, and adorable loafers! These are the biggest must, especially the skirts that come with the bows/ties! Measuring your waist/hips before getting the skirts is a must since some of the skirts length and sizing can be pretty wonky. Now the shoes, loafers are usually the best for this look but any cute crocs, ugg boots and sneakers can make the outfit look extremely cute too!! The shoes are in EUR sizing so find a converter of your US size & role with that! (ex: I'm US W8, EUR 39, UK 6, JPN 24.5)

Lastly! The essential ties, the long overknee socks that create the Zettai ryōiki and miss iconic loose socks herself! There isnt much explaination on this segment, but for loose socks they come in various amounts of length sizing from 60cm to the longest being 180cm! (Personally 180 is the BEST length!) and for the bows, you can also find ties within those very products but if you can't, they're always somehow separate too.

Okay so you got your outfit done! Wow thats amazing but what about accessories? well thats up to the gal herself on what she wants to do with that! but i can throw in some suggestions on what is super cute, what some other gals have on their profiles and so on!

These are fairly simple, cute and can fit nearly any motif of any outfit outside of JK uniform aesthetic. These are just simply suggestions on what can look good! 

Hair accessories are most talked about since a lot of gals that do the kogal look for their code often make their hair a bigger statement (via with wigs and such), anything with stars, hearts, bows and so much more usually is the style for the kogal aesthetic for hair accessory. Not the biggest main of it all but I've seen a fair amount of gals putting a lot of accessories in their hair to make their kogal code very exciting!

Woo... Lots of writing here LOL! I want to do other sub-styles but of course it'll take a while. Because I already found a bunch of rokku, goshikku, roma gyaru and some agejo stuff! For other sub-styles, it'll be a lot more harder as I'll have to really REALLY dig around for those goodies. The two I done already were at least a few hours of hunting down those very specific items. BUT let me know if there's a sub-style that I didn't mention on here & I'll see what I can do!
