"The Vigil"

In the darkness the world lies waiting

For the dawn which signals waking

And in the darkness quiet and unholy

I am preparing for what I know not fully

Arcane whispers on the wind

Strength from nothing I will fend

Secrets from the sultry deep

Keep me from sweet sleep

I shall keep my nightly vigil

Protected by my sacred sigil

Hands together clasped in prayer

Looking up to heaven bright and fair

My sword my armor and my shield

To the evil I shall never yield

I stand at the last threshold

Holding back the horde from the fold

Evil be held back from the sleeping world

Through clang of sword or spear furled

Til last I see the red of dawn

The faint glow a sweet siren song

The sun to keep it's watch by day

To keep the nameless dark things at bay

Release me from my weary plight

O you great bastion of light !

"For My Love"

The great sapphire waters flow

In the streams that meander on so slow

Where the roses and the willows grow

The place where once my love would go

And I would follow along beside

To where my happy memories reside

Where stands the green meadow

And all earthy treasures here below

My love would frolick by the waters edge

And dance around the overgrown hedge

She called herself a nature's child

She was lovely kind and mild

Wherever she left I would follow

From the highest hill to the lowest hollow

These days we spent in the glory of the sun

How could I ever know the race would soon be run

The love we shared that was so pure and true

A love that endures through and through

But not all was pure and bright

For not all in man's world is good and right

The one place I could not follow my love was her own father's door

For he thought me a beastly cur of social poor

And condemned me outside to wait for a score

And wander lonely around the bleak moor

But outside her father's hearth she was free

And all the world she dreamed to see

Someday when we were both grown

We would explore the world yet unknown

She promised me when she took my hands

From the highest peaks to the warmest sands

But I will only hinder you I said

There are some places that only you may tread

If you cannot tread then I will carry you

She said for her love was true

She was full of compassion for all God's creatures

And she was wiser than all the great teachers

How I miss her love and her grace

And I rue that I cannot again see her fair face

For the one I love was taken from me

And now here I lay alone under the tree

Where once we lay together and dreamed

When once the world so perfect had seemed

My eyes burn with bitter tears

How I wish I could embrace her again and melt away her fears

But those days are gone now

And nothing could bring them back not even my vow

She will never come to gaze upon the waters again

Or feel the warm embrace of sweet summer rain

She will never taste of again of loves perfect ache

She will never stand against the world for the least man's sake

So many dreams left undreamt

And so many letters left unsent

I see the evil man every night in my dreams

I see him and my heart bursts at it's seams

How could he have taken my girls life

How could he take paradise and take it into strife

The evil man took her life away

And that perfect innocence he did betray

I often go to his window and linger

And often raise an accusing finger

But the townspeople only laugh at my presence

They will not give my dearest her justice

The evil man regards me oft

He no longer chases me from his croft

He only smiles slyly and stares into my eyes

"No one will ever understand thy cries

Little creature of the cobbles

Go and return to thy baubles"

I hiss out with anger but what can I do

I am small and weak and thought a fool

I go to our meadow and I sit down and cry

I know i cannot rest until that man in the grown dost lie

Six feet down and six feet deep

Lying in eternal restless sleep

A death for a death

It will not bring my love back to breath

And perhaps for that it is vain

But I know what I will do all the same

Oh woe to me the witness to see

Him lay her to rest beneath that cherry tree

Beneath the ivy and the Lindsey

To lie undiscovered unto antiquity

I watched him take her young life

To make her die a maiden who would never become a wife

He took the stone to her head

And her life drained out bright and red

The poor sweet girl

His poor sweet girl

Oh woe to me that I was born small

Oh woe to me I was born to be least of all

The creatures that roam along the dirt

To be a creature of such great hurt

Fingerless lame little limbs

Four of each with claws for rims

With fur and tail and nought for hands

Slender and sly for sneaking the strands

I am but a little beast

And of mine own race I am the least

I have no words for to speak

And I have no glories there to seek

But the love of a human is the greatest honor my kind can know

All other concerns fall so low

Four little points they call fangs

Such a mockery it is that it pangs

My heart is filled with such bitter sorrow

For my girl that will know no tomorrow

Except in bright holy heaven above

I pray you fly on the wings of the dove

Over this great green ball

That is fading with each weary call

That flutters from my tired lips

All the bright things remaining seem gyps

For my lost love with the fate so bleak and grim

For you I will remain afloat and swim

I will never know rest again

I will never know the embrace of a friend

Until at last below the ground lies the fiend

He will go down below to where I send

And not a mercy I will lend

For no mercy did he show you my dear

When he split your throat from ear to ear

Nevermore shall he walk in the sun

For he ended you with his gun

Your own father the evil man

Who killed his child by his own hand

I will avenge my dearest one

And then finally it will be done

I will not be held back by the limitations of my race

For I will be fighting through the memory of your golden face

Teacher child lover friend

I will bring the killer to his end

For you my dear love

And when I am done I shall come to you in heaven above

And we shall spend eternity together

In that golden place of no fairer weather

And bask in the light of the fathers face

In that eternal timeless place

We will rest in the shade of willows made of spun gold

In the land where we will never grow old

We shall run through the meadows of silk

Free from the curse of man's ilk

Along the streams of cerulean blue

My one love fair and true

You have elevated me from the dust of the earth

To a place worthy of the noble of birth

I thank you my love

I will see you soon in high heaven above

"The Doom Of Man"

Today I glanced the doom of man

Death came and took me by the hand

But of death I felt no ounce of fear

For Death had spoken in a voice so soft but clear

Come with me and see with your eyes

My intentions I will not disguise

You are the one who has been chosen

To glimpse upon the truth yet unspoken

But do not fret , it was not made lightly

For you are the one found to be sightly

And you as the strongest amongst the race of man

To bear what only you can

To come hither and see

To taste of man's final destiny !

I was sore afraid yet sore at peace

And with deaths words all pondering did cease

The tranquility of a thousand ages fell upon me

And I felt as I were floating above a glassy sea

Death took me to the clouds so high in the sky

Death pointed to the ground and let out a sad sigh

From where we stood in the clouds so high

We saw the ages and eons pass by

A new epic at each worlds turn nigh

I saw the wickedness in the hearts of men

I saw their evilness and sin

Man fought with one another

I saw them spare not even a brother

I shuddered and I shook

And at last I could not bear to look

I buried my face into my hands

I was disgusted by what transpired in my own lands

Throughout all the countless ages

How we had fell to our carnal rages

I collapsed onto my knees

And I begged to heaven "Mercy oh please!"

But heaven did not answer me

It had turned its back from man, you see

And at last I realized what I had been meant to learn

From this lesson that would soon adjurn

That mankind was fated to burn

That unless we turned back from the brink

We would without final mercy be allowed to sink

Into the waters of darkness to be devoured

And my stomach churned and soured

Mankind would become a distant memory

A Scar left on the earth by some nameless enemy

And I cried cold bitter tears

For all the sums of all our fears

Mankind was always fated for doom

With our own hands with built and sealed our tomb

We had been born weak and dying

Only to ourselves we had been lying

I looked up again into the eyes of death

I was a slave to my nature and I cursed him under my breath

He smiled And then he chuckled

And then my thin veneer of patience buckled

I Rose up in an unholy and desperate rage

I threw my self at death like a lion released from a cage

But death reached out and trapped me

He laughed again and said "all men are alike you see

This is the lesson you were tasked to learn

For in your blood violence you yearn

This is mankind's bane

For they are cruel and vain

They are brimming with hate and lust

And they show no mercy to the just

Mankind will be their own end

For only from their hearts can they in no way defend "

I swallowed and regained my composure

As the seconds ticked by it only came closer

As we had watched throughout all time

The ages went to and fro with rhyme

Yet I had judged my own brethren for their crimes

Yet I was just as guilty as them and to that I had to resign

I had been made as treacherous and foul

As any evil man who bore a curse and scowl

The tears fell freely again like salty rain

For all my attempts to clear my name

All had fallen short in vain

We are all alike , one in the same

One man or a hundred we all speak for the horde

With rake or fork or broom or sword

"I have be the doom of my kind

In this no solace will I find

In this darkness still as a grave

I realize there is nothing to save

Death take me back down to my earthen tomb

There I will lie in wait for the earthen doom"

Death smiled and took me by the hand

And he returned me to the unstable sand

"Lilith"

Lilith high up in her crumbling castle

Looking out over where once lived vassels

But now the only vassels are crows and rats

The insects crawling on the ground and swarming gnats

She shifts and then she sighs

And when she remembers the glory she almost cries

When upon her head she bore a crown

And her face was merry with nary a frown

Days spent in excessive opulence

Days without want for sustenance

Squandered in endless pleasure

Everything in reach without measure

But those days were long gone

Like the dew at first dawn

Barren as the old vineyard

And silent as the bleak graveyard

Where all the companions of youth

Lay under cold stone to rueth

There was silence where once was constant laughter

Where merriment always followed thereafter

Where joys never ceased

But it seemed time was only leased

For it all had gone before her eyes

All she had left was herself and her sighs

And she was doomed to linger on

In the darkness without a song

What a foul thing for which she was cursed

A thing which could never be reversed

Accursed to live the life of a killer

With no peace or happiness to fill her

All alone in an empty tower

That had all the splendor of a wilted flower

Lilith was fated to linger on without light

Lilith was a creature of the night

"Sanguine"

As I roved out the sky was streaked with indigo

I walked down to the fields where the verdant moss grow

I had but a little bit further to where the enchanting rivers flow

I stared down into the cerulean waters below

Down where the sanguine roses grow

Nestled between the willows so solemn

Beneath the clouds of cotton column

In the morning air so still and deep

Before the waking hours while mankind is sleep

The great orb of sienna burned and rose in the quiet sky

And night drew back to in wait lie

For when the darkness would again shroud the world

And the blanket of blackness would be unfurled

But for now it was the hour of the sun

To raise the earth to life and to run

The daily race as the terrestrial orb spun

And so it continues until time is done

"Cheese Poem"

Cheese cheese

I love it with ease

I eat it with everything

This I love to sing

It's perfect in every way

That's why I have it everyday

"The Queen Of Peace And Love"

They called me the Queen of peace and love

The people cheered as I floated above

From my lofty bier I smiled and beamed

And in that moment perfect the world had seemed

Joyous and beautiful and bright

They called me their bastion of light

They held out their hands in hopes of even the slightest touch

They said it would free them as little or as much

The littlest morsel of a greeting

No matter how miniscule or fleeting

They hailed me as their saviour

They called me the model of moral behavior

Had they gone one step further

And they had in the eye of the modern observer

It would be said they bowed down before me in worship

Whispers traveled far and wide

Rumors that never did quite subside

That I had placed some dark spell

Something that had worked quite well

To make all blind to my faults

And to banish my enemies through secret assaults

Some arcane bewitchment from the deep

Some Ancient devilry and vile deceit

But they were wrong one and all

And like sand towers they will fall

I am perfect , I am grace

I am mercy's fair heavenly face

The people have come to see who I am

They have come to realize I am the lamb

I am their savior I am their truth

I am the one who their enemies sleuth

They bow down before me for they know their place

And for that showing they've earned their grace

They have seen the mighty hand

That made the enemies disband

And fall down in crumpled heaps

And fall to ruin in the deeps

Through the thousand marching feet

With fiery blades with bites so sweet

And iron thunderbolts from on high

With one bright light bring end nigh

They bow down with glossy eyes

And all together come their cries

Hail to our queen of peace and love

Whose glory and authority was bestowed from above

Champion from heaven and warrior for man

Who keeps the sheep with her stern hand

Who deals swift justice in the name of the most high

She knows who is named to die

And we beg thee for your wisdom

For you have been granted dominion

Over all that is green and good

And all that for a millennia has stood

You have united us as one

A kingdom of glory shining like the sun

You tore down our false gods

And the false kings and their rods

Which kept us shackled in our slavery

You came forth in all your bravery

And freed us from our ignorance

With your holy fire you have granted us our innocence

Have mercy on us creatures of the dust

We have murdered stolen and fallen to lust

Give us our judgements laid out in heaven above

Oh Queen of Peace and Love

When they had finished their praises

And once again stood and lifted their gazes

A terrible silence had then befallen

And they stood grim and solemn

I looked unto the crowd and then unto the heaven

And I stood up with arms outstretched to beckon

The spirit filled me and flowed through me

And then the vision I began to see

The eyes of my people were unwaivering

They waited in tense silence as each moment I was savoring

At last I knew what next to go and do

In this hour of our victory and true

I began to call to my children and sing

My proclaimation to them I would bring

We have freed all the oppressed on this great terrestrial ball

But we were made for a higher call

Look upward into the skies

Can your hear those tortured cries

Each star is an earth in need of cleansing

Of the evils of mankind unrelenting

We will free them from the mortal coils

The ball and chains of man's many foils

Oh you precious children you chosen few

Who through the trials were found true

And pure enough to stand with me

Follow me to your final destiny !

We have brought the world into a peaceful new age

We have freed it from man's guilt and rage

Stand with me now oh children of right

To banish the unholy night !

In our hands the new future we hold

It is more precious than the riches of old

Through peace and love we shall cleanse the universe

Of the dark ugly and perverse

Each terrestrial sphere shall become a paradise

Free from the blights of sin and vice

Heaven shall come down to the ground

And peace and love shall abound

The mercy of the heavenly light

Shall free the races from their plight

And those chosen few pure enough to remain

Shall join us in our blessed reign

We thank the heavens for our sight

Which will set the sin to right

Go forth in the glory of the new age

All your fears now assuage

I watched my people's eyes swell with delight

They were ready to bring forth the light!

~

The thousand spears brought forth heavens thunderbolts

And placed them on the iron alters

The thousand servants brought forth the sacrificial fires

And lit the bases of the great torches

The thousand wise men brought forth the ancient tomes of knowledge

And in unison chanted the sacred numbers

Then they looked unto to my shining face

And I beckoned to one who always stood at the right hand

And he brought forth the great scepter of power

And I took it into my hands

And to my waiting children I said

Let us free the heavens

And I brought down my left hand onto the head of the great scepter

And I caressed the giant ruby red as blood

And at that touch the great thunderbirds rose in unison towards heaven

And great trails of mist trailed underneath them

They shot into the dark sky of the night

Towards the waiting stars

And time stood still

And we waited

And After a silent millennia had passed into antiquity

The thunder bolts burst into a thousand pieces and the heavens filled with a heavenly light

And all throughout heaven was heard the cries of the evil ones as they were in an instant purged from this life

My children dove and scattered at the terrible light

They covered their eyes for they could not bear to look upon the glory

For their eyes had filled with tears of joy and mirth

And then it was silent

Over all the heavens and the earth

A dark hazy sky had replaced where the stars had once burned in the sky with their foul putrid glow

All was right now

In heaven and in earth

The new dawn had come

The great red sunrise burst in the east and burned away the darkness

I smiled and I sighed , finally able to rest

I had completed my great purpose.

I had reclaimed both heaven and earth

The Queen and her chosen few

My children once again regained their compusures

And I beckon

ed them to face the new dawn

To bask in its glory

Their tears of jubilation fell like rain again

And they knew they were loved

And there was peace

"Unfinished and Untitled"

I stand in the glory of the Cimmerian kings of old

Stately , regal and richly adorned with gold

The glory of which is hard to behold

For a mere mortal of a peasants fold

Atlantean decadence from the ceilings to the floors

Gold and silver and pearls delight

Every eye that could glimpse a sight

The splendor of dynastic Rome

As one would marvel from an ancient tome
