I made a few things to try to build a portfolio. I know I don’t need to draw realistic for my work to be professional but, I’ve gotten more critical since other people are going to be critiquing. I still care about what I think first & foremost but, any suggestions or criticism is welcome. 

This here was inspired by the UI & presentation of PC98 games. I can’t do actual pixel art so, I used some pixel styled brushes. I can’t draw in an “anime” style either (or I just can’t be bothered to learn right now). I think my usual style doesn’t look bad for this but, I wish I could draw just a bit more realistically.

Now, this was the 1st piece I finished & feel fairly confident about. I decided to start off with something involving my favorite OC since I wanted to start off on a good note. The clothes with the paper texture was actually a last minute addition. Of course, I didn’t draw any parts but, I still like how it came out in the end.

This one’s sort of incomplete. It’s supposed to be a collection of logos(some from other art pieces in the making/complete pieces). I want show my interest in logo design but, I don’t have access to the usual programs people use. So, making these end up being more difficult & time consuming than I’d like for them to be. Especially since I want the details of each design to be as balanced & even as possible.

I wanted to show off my skills & interest in character design as well. After looking through other ref sheets online, I opted to having a more “stylistic” presentation than the usual white background with a turnaround of the character. Although, now I’m getting second thoughts and want to do the usual. It’ll definitely be more time consuming but I still want seem somewhat “professional” if that makes any sense.

For this, I was kind of going for a comic book/manga cover look. My original idea is way different from this but, wanted to move on since I made a deadline for myself. The only concept I decided to keep was the monochromatic background while my OC (the angel in the middle) would stand out the most. I am considering going back to my original idea but, time will tell.

As of now, this one I’m the most indecisive about. My main issue is with the image above the black banner. The idea is that my demon OC (left) is the most prominent figure in the picture since she’s so vastly different from her past self (as an angel). I just can’t figure out how to represent that idea aside from the little images on the banner.
