Some open world games I can recommend; Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, Shadow of the Colossus, any GTA game, Simpson's Home & Run
Horror? Gregory Horror Show: Soul Collector, Fatal Frame, Twisted Metal, Devil May Cry games.
As for fighting games, I can only think of Tekken, Soulcaliber, and Marvel vs. Capcom. I've heard Guilty Gear was pretty decent. But if you wanna try out a really shitty game that used to come from a good franchise, check out Final Fight: Streetwise.
