Chugging these out has been a blast, and it's making me want to make OCs again! Anyways, here's the Knight of Heart, a classpect that has pretty close ties with the ever-prevalent classpect of Dirk Strider, the Prince of Heart. Same sources as before: @cannolicritter's guide and Dahni's masterpost.
The Aspect: Heart
Heart is, by and large, a sort of one-dimensional aspect at first glance. Lacking the very deep, recurring symbolism of Light, the deep themes of Blood, etc., Heart is left in the dust often. Its associated characters are Dirk Strider and Nepeta Leijon, being the Prince of Heart and the Rogue of Heart respectively. Heart's main symbolisms are the sense of self, emotion, and love. These are very hard to work with as they're so vague; however, they're also the most personal of the symbols. As your classpect ties in directly with your personal growth, it's no wonder that an aspect literally about yourself is very powerful.
Nepeta Leijon, the Rogue of Heart, is the token child of heart: she loves shipping, takes deep care for her friends' feelings, and can be incredibly emotional. Heart can be a very irrational aspect, as it's the opposite to Mind. Nepeta was often fueled by an immature desire to "just keep going along", never really becoming too relevant and deciding to stay on the backburner, but coming up every once in a while as comic relief. Nepeta is unique, which is also a large part of being a Heart player: striving for a sense of uniqueness.
Dirk Strider, the Prince of Heart, has a much more serious role in the story. He, like Jane, wishes for a better life and wants to grow, but in a different sense: he wants to feel emotion. As the Prince embodies the opposite of their aspect, Dirk acts much more like a Mind player. He's logical, precise, almost robotic; he shuns any emotions he has in lieu of actually dealing with any of his problems. He lacks a sense of self and any sort of strong emotion.
The Class: The Knight
The Knight is a class we see in two very, very well-developed characters: Dave Strider and Karkat Vantas. The Knight is described as "one who protects (with) their aspect" and is the active counterpart to the Page. Dave protects his friends often through his use of Time, and Karkat protects the bonds he and his friends in the session have built up. They often seek out those who lack their aspect in order to help them, as a sort of "noble deed" imposed upon them. However, this noble deed comes with the price of their own sense of their aspect: Dave often found himself worrying that he's lost the time to do things, and Karkat often felt like he was slipping away from the tight bonds between him and his friends. They might obsess over protecting and utilizing their aspect, using it as a crutch because they feel like they don't know anything better they can use or do.
The Classpect: The Knight of Heart
The Knight of Heart is all about protecting oneself. This might seem selfish or even narcissistic, but it's just what Heart is all about. A Knight of Heart feels a moral obligation to protect their friends' (and their own) feelings, often using de-escalation tactics whenever they can. They don't like fights; they can lead to a sense of failing to protect Heart. The Knight of Heart is neurotic and irrational, and often doesn't take into account how serious something actually is: they'll yell for two people to stop fighting when all they were doing was disagreeing over a simple hypothetical. They might get lovestruck very easily but will keep their true emotions safeguarded. Knights often have a strong moral code, so a Knight of Heart might come off as a sort of SJW-type.
They think that they're not caring enough, not unique enough, or not honest enough, but in fact they're some of the most compassionate and empathetic individuals you could ever meet. And despite their irrationality, their actions never lead to destruction or overwhelming chaos. When a Knight of Heart must be mean, they are ruthless; a good quote for a Knight of Heart is "demons run when a good man goes to war".
When making a fan-character that's a Knight of Heart, their powers might be to keep team morale going through hard times, keeping their emotions "protected". They might also have an innate ability to help people realize their true emotions in a safe way, or to be very in-tune with other people's emotions. As for their characteristics, not much screams "Knight of Heart" on a physical basis, but a Knight of Heart might have a lot of different interests that help them feel unique. In fact, they'd probably gatekeep these interests a lot. Fittingly, the Knight of Heart is a class that doesn't really have any defining physical characteristics, but instead only emotional characteristics.
My thoughts?
This is a really cool classpect! Heart really is an aspect that is a little hard to work with, but so worth it to utilize. The Knight is a very personal class, so it pairs well with Heart, the aspect that's all personal! This was really fun and I'm super stoked to do more!! Thanks goes out to the person who requested both this AND my last post!
