The [non-existent] empowerment of pretty privilege

(ENG) Pretty privilege does exist, but some people think that "privilege" is a synonym of "empowering" and this could not be any further from reality. We have to remember that pretty privilege only exists because of our sexist society, who rewards women [specifically women] who fit the standards of beauty and shames women who simply don't. If it is not for all women it is not empowering, it is control. 

Being treated like a queen because of your beauty [mainly by men] feels nice, but next time think about all our sisters who may be treated differently by the same person just because of their looks; encourage a change in society. Sorority is beautiful.

(ESP) El privilegio de ser bonita (pretty privilege) si existe, pero muchas personas relacionan "privilegio" con "empoderamiento" y en este caso esta relación no podría estar más alejada de la realidad. Debemos recordar que este privilegio existe solamente porque vivimos en una sociedad sexista que trata bien a las mujeres [específicamente mujeres] que entran en el canon de belleza y maltrata a la mujer que no. Si no es para todas no es empoderante, es control.

Ser tratada como una reina por cómo te ves [normalmente por un hombre] se siente hermoso, pero la próxima vez que suceda por favor piensa en nuestras hermanas que podrían ser tratadas diferentes por la misma persona solo por su apariencia; alienta un cambio en la sociedad. La sororidad es hermosa.
