..how do you guys make friends in 2024. HAHSHSH.. okay but really making friends in 2024 is so different compared to like 2020 where you could just have one similar interest and you were set for life as their friend. nowadays it feels hard to even do that online everyone feels super selective on who they interact with and are so randomly passively aggressive? people are so negative for no reason. It's also most likely because the internet has changed a lot since then. just found it kinda interesting..! not asking for advice just commenting

i agree so hard. i feel like it used to be so easy to make friends in 2020. im not sure if its peoples' attitudes that have changed or something? its like, .ppl r more closed off and ig selective like u said. but everyone just feels distant too. like we're all more isolated.. idk. makes me sad.

Personally, I haven't run into any negative experiences yet and I'm very much thankful for that. But I think it's because of how the internet is evolving. We see this phenomenon of "internet rudeness" sweep into real life as well with concert etiquette being the first thing that comes to mind. I guess people (not everyone ofc) are used to saying out-of-pocket and it becoming the norm to harass people for fun (ex: TikTok, twitter, and Instagram) that it's just internet culture. Idk maybe I'm just yapping but I see what you're saying about it being different.

ya I totally get what you're saying! It may be just that the communities and people I find myself around most just happen to be more judgemental and picky and I think your experience online can heavily differ depending where you're looking, what communities you're in, and what you like. I'm pretty sure I could find much freidnlier people if I purposely looked for them. I think in general people have gotten a bit .. more odd online? more hostile? but where you look and are can definitely change that experience.
