FO, do NOT sew closed. Using a length of red yarn, create a French knot in the middle of the top of the beret. Leave long tail for sewing.
Legs [In black, with 4 mm hook]:
Chain 30, 3 dc in each stitch. FO, leaving long tail for sewing. Make 2.
Arms [In black, with 4 mm hook]:
Chain 25, 3 dc in each stitch. FO, leaving long tail for sewing. Make 2.
Body Assembly:
Sew all arm and leg pieces together. In doing this you’ll likely create a flat base, which is good. Make sure both legs are in the middle with one arm on each side. Trim leftover black yarn after securing loose ends. Sew onto bottom center of the head using the long white tail. Sew beret onto head, off centered. See below for scarf instructions.
Scarf [In red, with 4 mm hook]:
Chain to preferred length, fitting around the “neck” with enough left over to create an overlap. HDC in each stitch. Using red yarn, sew the overlaps together after wrapping around the “neck”. If preferred, do some securing stitched onto the head/body.
