(I won't abbreviate so you all can read :3)
|| This is my second blog explaining scene tips, tricks and just overall explaining what the scene fashion is, where it originally came from, how it became what it is today and all the essentials you need to be seen! I will also include blogs with store recommendations, music artist recommendations, etc! ||
NOW WE CAN BEGIN!! ;
MAKEUP BREAKDOWN : after scenes crazy sense of clothes, or big puffy hair, what is the next most unique, most noticeable part of the look? that's right, the make up! so scene makeup really isn't too hard to understand honestly, first you want to start off with your base, I would start by using a foundation of choice (remember : if foundation gets on your lips or if you look pale DON'T STOP!! THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT TO LOOK LIKE!!) after that you want to conceal your face and do your eyebrows, I prefer thin eyebrows but I've known scenes who had thicker brows! Once the counselor is finished you don't really want to blush/bronze/contour your face that much because we want the paper look but if you want to put a bit of blush/bronze/contour you can just don't overdo it, again, you want to look pale! After all of that, of course, the eyes are one of the most unique features of the scene look that make it stand out from the rest of the face. Everybody's scene tutorial is different but the one I use is a tutorial I watched about 7 years ago on youtube! (you can't find it anymore since it was taken down :( so I'll just explain what I do!) start off by grabbing a makeup brush and black eyeshadow and coat it all over your top eyelid! once that's finished go in with a second layer of black eyeshadow (pref a more pigmented black so then it'll look like its fading into a lighter black) use the more pigmented black and out it all over your eyelid, once your done take the black and place some on the bottom of your eye/bottom eyelid, we want the eye to have a 'racoon' type of look, so make sure the eyeshadow on the bottom of the eye and the top look connected and have an around the eye look! Once you're finished with that I take a liquid eyeliner and make a thick wing on the top of my eye and of course fill it in, (REMEMBER! THICK.) and then I take a pencil eyeliner and fill in my bottom and top waterline (if it hurts too much to do the top YOU DON'T HAVE TO!!) but make sure you do the bottom! After that I put mascara on the top and bottom lashes and finish the eye look with big false eyelashes :) and to top off the look DO NOT. AND I MEAN DO NOT ADD LIPSTICK OR LIP GLOSS. When it comes to scene makeup you want all the attention to be on your big, unique eye makeup and nowhere else. If you look at pictures of scene kids from the 2000's or Lexi lush you can see none of them are wearing lipstick.
if you want to add color into your eyeshadow look, instead start with your brighter eyeshadow of choice (ex: neon pink/green/blue etc) and then go over it with your black eyeshadow, so then it looks black fading into your color instead of the black fading into a lighter black/gray
