Important Wanderlust News

So, I've been working a LOT on Wanderlust lately, and as I keep adding new features, polish, and content, I keep noticing issues with the story format I'm using. To keep it concise, a story format is a type of coding language, if you will, that the game engine, Twine, uses in order to make creating stories far easier.

The current version of Wanderlust (1.7, though 1.8 as well) is written in Harlowe, and while it is displayed as the default story format and a good one for beginners, it's not exactly what I need. As such, the next update, 1.8, will be written in SugarCube.

Fixing the game to run in SugarCube would be an absolute nightmare, so instead, I'm building it from the ground up. I can just copy most of the text from the old version (now known internally as Wanderlust_H), and paste it into the new version (internally known as Wanderlust_S), but all of the code will have to be re-done manually, and this means learning SugarCube.

So far, it doesn't look like it will be unbearably difficult, but it will take time, so don't expect a new update any time soon. Do expect, however, for 1.8 to bring lots of new content with it <3
