I get home from work
And you're still standing in your dressing gown
Well, what am I to do?
I know all the things around your head
And what they do to you
And you're still standing in your dressing gown
Well, what am I to do?
I know all the things around your head
And what they do to you
What are we coming to?
What are we gonna do?
What are we gonna do?
Blame it on the black star
Blame it on the falling sky
Blame it on the satellite
That beams me home
Blame it on the falling sky
Blame it on the satellite
That beams me home
Troubled words of a troubled mind
I try to understand what is eating you
I try to stay awake, but it's 58 hours
Since that I last slept with you
I try to understand what is eating you
I try to stay awake, but it's 58 hours
Since that I last slept with you
What are we coming to?
I just don't know anymore
I just don't know anymore
Blame it on the black star
Blame it on the falling sky
Blame it on the satellite
That beams me home
Blame it on the falling sky
Blame it on the satellite
That beams me home
I get on the train and I just stand about
Now that I don't think of you
I keep falling over, I keep passing out
When I see a face like you
Now that I don't think of you
I keep falling over, I keep passing out
When I see a face like you
What am I coming to?
I'm gonna melt down
I'm gonna melt down
Blame it on the black star
Blame it on the falling sky
Blame it on the satellite
That beams me home
Blame it on the falling sky
Blame it on the satellite
That beams me home
This is killing me
This is killing me
This is killing me
Interpretation time:
I think the song is about the narrator being in a relationship where the S/O has severe mental health issues and blaming issues
“I get home from work and you’re still standing in your dressing gown” and “I know all the things around your head, and what they do to you”
these two lyrics could both relate to mental health issues, not changing/getting out of bed and seeing/hearing things and telling your partner (the narrator) about them and what they do to you
“Blame it on the black star, blame it on the falling sky“
This could mean that the narrators partner is blaming his/her actions on things that simply do not exist
Trouble words of a troubled mind I try to understand what eating you
This line could relate to how the narrators partner says very disturbing things but they are very disturbed and the narrator is trying to find out what is wrong
And finally
This is killing me
This is killing me
This is killing me
What i think this means is the it is mentally draining the narrator but he loves his partner so much that he wants to stay
This took for goddamn ever
