A while ago, I spend two days in my grandma's house, she lives in my hometown that its about one hour from the city where I live since I was a baby.
I do have a strange connection with my hometown, when I go to visit my grandma I stay there for three days at max (I visit my grandma two/three times a month). I don't know anyone there but I know every corner of the city, I like to go in the forest and look at the nature. It's a strange connection, how can I miss a city where I didn't properly live at all?
But when I'm there I always feel nostalgic, but why?
Β
Β And then I remember, it's the city where my mom lived when she was a girl. a girl just like me. When I'm in my grandma's house I always get hesitant when I come across my mom's room.Β
Β
Β Her room is in light pink, the giant comfy bed has a tv at its side. There's also a big closet but her cloths are no longer there. My grandma decided to give them away because they were old.
Β
I feel so nostalgic, that room is full of nostalgia. I like to remember me as a kid and my mom sleeping there during afternoon, hugging and talking about wherever. Knowing that she spent her teenage years there, with hopes and dreams like me is like giving myself a punch in the stomach. She did accomplish her dreams. Will I do the same? will I ever accomplish my dreams like her? I don't know, no one knows. But I'm here. In my mom's bedroom. I'm just a girl like she was.
Did you ever felt nostalgic in places so far from you and your experience?
