Sega unironically can't stop disappointing me with their new releases when it comes to sonic, (except for sonic frontiers) like why did they release a new sonic generation game but only add shadow. i thought the point of sonic generation is sonic teaming up with his classical self, so why add shadow? feels pointless to me and lazy writting. over the years, the sonic franchise added a lot of new characters whether its in their comics,games or any other series. so why not make something original and new?like an online sonic fighting game. sega has so many characters to work with and each with their own abilities, so why not make somethinng good of it and satisfy the fans and make them witness a new sonic experience. they don't have to do something crazy, just a game good enough for people to want to play it, like take inspiration from dragon ball fighter z, it's a good balanced game that takes skill, so why can't sega do the same? and before you say anything i'm aware there are sonic fighting games. but let's be blunt, those games were bad and since we're in 2024, sega has enough resources to make a new online game that can last for years.
why sega can't make any good online multiplayer sonic games!

it would if they put some efforts to it, because of tiktok and so many other factors. sonic community grew even larger. so why not make the community get together

Well maybe because the franchise is old, and cant be milked like back in the old good days
not really, it's big and the last years the fanbase grew bigger with the help of tiktok and all. its not like mario, and the devs can make something good.

Nah this guy is spitting game right now. The demand isn't there for it because they no longer see the same profits they once did with sonic. They can't give up on sonic cuz it's Sega's mascot but think of it from a business stand point. I can come up with so many good mario games but I can't do the same with sonic cuz they ran him into the ground

But still it's not as profitable as it used to be, you can see that from the new super smash bros games, and the hype in tiktok is all about edgy aesthetics of sonic. Not people that are actually interested in the franchise for what it is, you know how tiktokers roll.
