Hope is a gateway drug
It pulls you in.
Each ounce of hope could be the one that breaks you,
Yet still we hold onto it.
Why do we suffer the consequences of our actions when we could just avoid them in the first place?
Why do we hold onto something that could break in our fingertips?
Hope is the reason we fall.
But it is also the reason we soar.
It is our detriment and our aid,
Our flaw and our strength,
And we must choose how to use it:
For too much hope can ruin you,
But just enough can set you free.
