When I was younger, I'd watch a lot of cartoon reviews. Mainly the negative ones that nitpick every little detail in a cartoon. This caused me to not watch the cartoons myself to form my own opinion because at the time I felt it wouldn't be worth my time if a reviewer said it's bad (which was pretty dumb imo lol)
Something I didn't realize is that...a lot of cartoon reviewers were just kinda dumb and overly critical for no good reason. Because call me crazy but whenever I watch cartoons that are widely hated I find them more fun and entertaining than anything (Uncle Grandpa, Clarence, Breadwinners)
idk how to end this off uhh cartoons are so fun to watch when you don't have a mf in your ear telling you that they're not
Cartoon reviewers r kinda dumb

HARD AGREE- i think they expect cartoons, things made for kids/younger audiences, to be some grand amazing thing?? which im not saying that cartoons cant be great and anazing and that kids cant get a cartoon if its deep or whatever, but I almost feel like people sort of dont apriciate it as an art medium?? so they set these high ass expections they dont even know theyve set and when the show doesnt meet them they immediatly write it off as bad. and then they give the benefit of the doubt to a non-animted show thats 10x worse :PPP

LITERALLY
And I feel like with more story driven cartoons like Gravity Falls and Steven Universe, they kinda just…expect cartoons to have more depth to them than they should’ve? Because at the time the only cartoons I’ve seen being shat on are inoffensive episodic cartoons
I’m not saying these kinds of cartoons are exempt from all critique but like half the time cartoon reviewers have such irrational criticisms and dumb nitpicks so it’s kinda hard to take them seriously
