In trouble for forgetting the Pledge ^-^

It was like 7am and I was reading a book with headphones on so I didn't notice that the morning announcements happened meaning I sat through the pledge. Now I don't believe in standing for the flag but this teacher would always complain loudly when we didn't stand so usually (and by usually I mean every day but today) I just suck it up and stand to get her to stop and I guess show "respect"... So I feel like anyone would see the headphones, the book, and time being 7am and be able to deduce that I wasn't standing because I was busy and sleepy!!! Not her I guess!

5 minutes pass and she hands me a paper which I mindlessly take thinking its an assignment until I look closely and see the big old header of "all students are expected to stand for the flag" and...... I was in utter disbelief when I realized this was an OPEN RESPONSE QUESTIONNAIRE ABOUT MY SO CALLED INFRACTION???!?!?!

It had questions like "Why didn't you stand for the flag" and "Do you intend to continue this behavior going forward" stuff like that and I was shocked especially because I don't even know if this is considered a warning, a punishment, or worse?? She started saying that it was a law (which I know it isnt) and that she needs to contact my parents so who knows whats going to happen from this.

Like my U.S teacher made jokes about this last year telling us a lot of teachers here dont understand that they cant make kids stand for the flag bc they dont know that supreme court decisions triumph state statutes but I thought he was exaggerating!!

What I did might be petty and indicative of my stubbornness but I just wrote extremely blunt answers and gave it back to her because thats ridiculous that she decided to give some weird "punishment" over this. Now Im not going to stand period!!!

Im not mad but Im entertained, fascinated, and weirded out by it because this is peak Florida education
