this was originally gonna be js explaining the dichotomies of functions but idk ;-; (update 2)
types of in-ring element connections
duplicate (☍ or -)
i couldnt find a better name for this connection so IT WILL PROBABLY BE CHANGING ^_^ but basically elements connected as duplicates have reversed style and position (ex.: te - fi). this is also how i originally found rings. duplicate elements would normally share polarity, since they are the most closely related elements and the foundation of rings. te duplicates fi and fi duplicates te.
opposite (× or +)
even tho the name is opposite, opposite elements are on the same loop, all of their dichotomies are just reversed (ex.: te - si). they arent as connected as their duplicate, and they possibly dont have the same polarity on classical baernals, but theyre still in the same loop. i might make another subtype system based on the polarity of this function.
influencing (↔ or \)
this name is also not ther best so ILL PROBABLY CHANGE ITT but basically influencing elements just flip the style (ex.: te - ce). these are more connected than opposite functions and probably on the same level as duplicate, and possibly even more. te influences ce and ce influences te. they arent duplicates, because their polarity is more based on them influencing the other functions and less on just a general polarity of the two.
te - fi
\ ce
+ si
