school roofs hold generational memories

have u ever looked on a school roof? most of it’s covered in trash but there are some relics i know just have memories. i see a lonesome flipflop up here, how long has it been there? why is it up there? was it an act of friendly banter? or an act of cruelty? sometimes theres even balls up there, was it thrown up there on purpose? was someone just too strong and kicked it up there? was there an initial feeling of awe twisted into a feeling of loneliness with the newcoming fact their ball is lost?
