Something interesting about The Sims [the whole saga]

Since I started playing videogames, one of the most interesting was The Sims. It was a really good life simulator, and it's interesting to see it's evolution through the years.

But it seems like the next game of the saga is gonna be soulless. Something that I loved about The Sims was that every game had its own personality. The Sims 2 being more about aliens and having an actual story mode and The Sims 3 being perfect in almost every aspect of being a life simulator.

They always had content for the base game, but... The Sims 4 was really bad for that.

I'm not saying that The Sims 4 is a bad game, it's really good! But, the idea of spending too much money for having content in the game is so fucked up. I know that there are some ways to get the DLCs free or just putting mods into the game to add content.

The Sims is a really great saga, and I hope some people can try to play some of the old games that were amazing! Previously, I mentioned The Sims 2 having an actual "story mode", and I really want to recommend it.

The idea of a story mode for The Sims is kinda weird, right? Well, THEY MADE IT and it's really cool. Don't expect the story to be really good or having a perfect narrative because you know, you are doing a story with a game that has almost no limitations to what you can or not do.

And for me, the most insane part of The Sims 2, its the ports to another consoles. The Nintendo DS and PSP ports are insane. Seeing gameplay of the game on a real Nintendo DS is still insane to me. Obviously those ports are missing of the original mode of The Sims but they are really interesting to play if you want to.

Some photos of the mentioned ports.

And... THERE ARE GAMEBOY ADVANCE GAMES TOO? Yeah, if you didn't knew about them, welcome to another way of experiencing The Sims. Bustin' Out is my personal favorite. (I didn't played it too much, so I'm gonna be very brief with this)

Bustin' Out has no right to exist.

Screenshots of some examples of minigames of The Sims Bustin' Out (GBA)

Yeah, you are playing on a GBA so don't expect complicated things or complex mechanics on it but the things that they did with this game are really good.

THEY HAVE MINIGAMES, ACTUAL MINIGAMES. It's fun to see that they added minigames for some things in the game, and I hope that they do something like that for another game in the future. You know how cool it would be to be cooking some food and having a little minigame? Maybe I'm being delusional about that, but for me, it could be cool to see more interaction between the player and Sims.

And with all of that, that's my thoughts about The Sims saga. I hope the next game of The Sims can be as good as the ones that I mentioned here.

I love TS3 so much that I literally cannot play more than an hour with TS4 without getting bored ;; TS4 may be a bit better than TS3 with customization and designing houses but for gameplay??? TS3 FTW!!!

Totally agree, TS4 it's so boring compared to the great gem that is TS3. I always thought that it was just nostalgia, but it really is better

THE STORY BASED GAMES ARE SOOO GOOD but yeah I agree with you, also have you noticed how minimalistic the furniture in the sims 4 is honestly I prefer the sims 2 because it's funnier and has nicer furniture. Oh and have you noticed how "easier" it seems now to manage the sims' needs? idk on 1 and 2 it just seems "harder" to manage their needs, have enough money etc

YEAH, you are right about the furniture. That's the reason of all the furniture mods that exist. About the needs of Sims, I didn't even realized that, maybe it's like that to get new players into the saga, anyway, I find that super weird

I think it's a newer games phenomena in general. Even the pokemon games, now personally I suck at that game but I've noticed the 3ds ones are SO EASY to beat compared to the first ones

It says a lot that I think my first introduction to the Sims 4 was a Youtube video about how they made a DLC for a DLC -_-
