hai so first of all - this was all formulated ! in my boyfriends (his name is jonah) cool roleplaying discord server where my friend mary is an epic mod and makes theories ! so . lets. write down some theories!
first off :
this is something i mentioned, but The Magnus Archives is an investing introduction into the world and the Fears, while the Magnus Protocol is the actual story and it introduces more information about the aforementioned Fears, specifically how the Spiral and the End have a play in literally every other fear. think about it ! you're being watched by something behind the door or a man in the window. your first concern is is it going to kill you? (End) what does it want? the anxiety will slowly, slowly drive you insane. mad. doesn't Jon say the Spiral is the fear of madness???? huh ??? huh???? that's exactly what he says!!! therefore, the Spiral at least has an essence or an influence on everything everything everything else. there is no escaping insanity when you have your ribs torn out and now they are gone, there is no escaping insanity when you would rather die than have any chance at living!!!!!!! (Spiral)

the first "statement" that we hear actively given to the OIAR (specifically Gwen if I remember correctly) is VERY spiral.
now you may be asking - Adam, but wasn't that aligned with the flesh? ink5oul gave her a tattoo that spread and the ability to mold and shape herself , while to the outside eye she was only trying to harm herself (as her roommate I believe called Sarah said, with acid) ! that's very Flesh aligned!

IF YOU LISTEN AGAIN they very much emphasize how "crazy' and "insane" the statement giver was!!! she was so desperate for perfection, so desperate to be pretty and look naturally like the filters she saw girls on Instagram use,, that she was willing to mold her face with chemicals and blades. isn't that soo Spiral aligned!!!!!! she was insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she was going fucking insane because she was not happy with herself!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi! I really like your perspective on how it's spiral central. Even back in 2018, the spiral always stuck with me. I often immediately saw the spiral perspective and then looked back to the actual fear entity represented. Now with the Magnus Protocol, as well as with the information from S5 of TMA, how the names are arbitrary and they can't truly be separated. I used to be confused why Not!Them was stranger because there was always ONE person who remembered their old face. They were then gaslit by those around them that they're the same person.
