Spacehey is such a great break from modern social media...

It feels good to just not have to worry about algorithms and keeping up appearances. 

I really miss the old days of social media when I wasn't trying to impress anyone, and genuine connections were made more easily. I'd spend the whole day at school with little access to the internet, then when when I got home the first thing I did was message my irl friends about a huge bully we had as a principal at the time. Then we'd make memes about her and pass them around school. She was a real cu*t bitch, and apparently she terrorises kids and teachers alike til this day (did a quick google search and found a news article of her getting a poor teacher in trouble for helping out a child. Shit is wild LOL). I'd also spend hours fixing my profiles, playing dress up on Gaia Online, and going on random goth chat rooms and talking to cool strangers.

It may sound odd, but I'm still a noob when it comes to new social media. I feel like I have a good grasp on instagram (threads doesn't count), but (the site formerly known as) twitter is still hard to use. And don't get me started on tiktok; that place is a mystery to me. The need to constantly produce content is really beginning to burn me out as well. Sure, I have certain niches I can readily tap into for content in a pinch, but then there's the perfectionism I impose on myself which slows me down. 

Sometimes I use tumblr for a break (I got a love/hate thing going on with that site), but Spacehey is a way better alternative. The only thing I'm missing is my old friend group tbh haha. I may make another Gaia Online account too. Idk about that one though. 

I hope this website stays up for a LONG time!
