(English is not my native language and I use a translator, please forgive me if something sounds gibberish)
Hello, my nickname is Niki and I'm a budding writer! I embarked on this fantastic world of writing at a very young age, I have always loved books and they have been my best friends for a long time. At the age of 11 I was already posting fanfics on the internet and over time I got deeper into writing. Although I'm not a professional, I can give you some tips to write/start writing your own book, this includes things that help me a lot!
1 – Organization!
What do you mean organization? Where do I start? Well, I recommend that you get to know your own characters and see yourself in them, I give you a tip that I think is important: create a file about your character! Explore being creative, where he was born, his age, likes and dislikes, personality, lifestyle, clothes, friends, family, among other facts. Think like him, what would your character do in some situations? Also seek inspiration from someone you know or a character you like (it's not necessarily mandatory). I think making a Pinterest board highlights your character's tastes even more and fleshes them out even more!
2 - Setting of the scene
Where does your story take place? A gothic castle or a magical land full of enchanted fairies and elves? Introduce the scenario to your reader, the first chapter of a book should begin with this purpose, the reader gets to know our incredible (or perhaps not so incredible) protagonist and the place where our story takes place. Make a Pinterest board if necessary to visualize the place, search for physical things to narrate the details even more! Depending on where it takes place, I recommend that you research it, especially if there is a specific monster in your book.
3 - Useful additional tip
Wonderful ideas come and go, we can be in the middle of a crowded bus or during a school break, in addition to writing digitally, try to always have a notebook for writing and ideas. Don't miss the opportunity to have an incredible Plot Twist in your hands and lose it due to the lack of a physical notebook
4 - Charming character for the reader/target audience
Niki, how do I have a character that enchants my reader? Knowing your book, an important point that I didn't mention, you should think about who your target audience is. So try to humanize your character, we know that not everyone will be to the reader's liking, there will always be a character that stands out among the others, even if he is secondary or even the villain/anti-hero of the story.
The reader must feel empathy for the character and get involved with him in the story, this will make your reader interested in your book. If you don't understand this tip, try to see characters that most people like and their constant patterns, take this as a basis that will be of great help.
5 - Plot twist
In addition to writing, I read, something that makes me love or hate the book is its Plot twist! Something big and unexpected for your reader, it will take him by surprise, we can use an example: a character gets mysteriously lost and a detective takes charge of his search, only to discover in the end that the detective was the kidnapper. However, necessarily be manipulative in relation to this character, your reader will be suspicious if you are smart. You, the writer, need to leave subtle hints well hidden throughout the book and if you get too involved with the writing you will discover the Plot Twist while reading what you wrote again (This has already occurred to me haha).
Those were today's tips! I hope I helped you with your book
and I wish you the best of luck with your story!!!
Kisses from Niki.
