Backhand Sally was founded in 2013 by the musical team of Ginger Grace and Brock Hard. The dynamic duo has over twenty five years of musical experience between them.
While Backhand Sally's music is rooted in Americana they also widen the genres musical tent adding in elements of, country, roots rock and undertones of blues. That eclectic mix comes from their wide list of influences that they list as including, Fleetwood Mac, Sly & The Family Stone, Eric Clapton, Fiona Apple, Hall and Oates, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson and The Beatles.
Unlike their musical style that pulls on many different influences their lyrics are personal with them writing all of their own songs. In their music Brock works his magic on guitar while Ginger's strong vocals drive the storytelling song lyrics home.
Backhand Sally's latest release is entitled, 'No Instructions,' came out in August, 2019.
Here's what the band had to say about it, “This album is the fruit of 2 years of blood, sweat, and tears that we poured ourselves entirely into. We allowed ourselves to explore every avenue of our musical experience, influence, and knowledge as well as exploring musical areas and technology that were new to us.”-Backhand Sally.
