Card of the Day: the king of cups, reversed

Harper came by today. I swear she's got some witch in her too, she told me she knew I was under the weather because she could "feel it in her bones." She brought some soup that she'd made the day before with Father Gunnen, and we ate on the floor in front of the fireplace. Homemade chicken soup with bread from the bakery below their apartment. It was sort of divine.

We took a walk together, afterwards. Down to the beach. We looked at the shells and sea glass, and Harper dragged a few pieces of driftwood behind her. I drew some sigils in the sand, for protection, and prosperity, then charged by the waves and by Harper twirling around them-- carefree, if only for a moment.

When we left, Harper had an armful of driftwood, and I some new spell components. The hike back up to the cottage was a bit draining, so we stopped at a small clearing in the woods. It was beautiful there, encircled by trees, the sound of the waves crashing not far below. A fallen tree provided a bench, and we sat and talked there for nearly an hour.

Apparently there's someone new in town, at the school. Harper says he's off putting, and he makes her uncomfortable. A lot of things make Harper uncomfortable, but I don't say that. (Even so, I slipped another sigil into her backpack before she went home.)

She thinks I would hate him. Him and Beckett are getting along, but that doesn't surprise me. Beckett's personable, I imagine they could get along with almost anyone- or anything. I'll leave my judgements away until I actually meet the guy, though. While I trust Harper's opinion implicitly, but I still think it'd be best to make my own calls.

Anyways. I walked Harper home, only for Juno to join me halfway back to the cottage. She doesn't like when I'm gone for so long.

I feel really grateful to have been so quickly accepted into this community. It's almost bizarre, especially considering where I started from. In my home town, I had no friends besides my twin sister. But in such a short time, I've already formed such close bonds with the people here.

Next week marks the three month point of me living here.

(And three months of Parker not fucking talking to me.)

(Whatever.)
