I watched Priscilla after have watched Elvis // Who won? lol

Hey!! :D thanks for read this, I'll remind you that my english is quite awful and I'll maybe say some spoilers, aniways one of the protagonists of this gossip is dead so it would be a quite obvious spoiler. A history spoiler.

Well, If I have to be honest, I always enjoyed Elvis' music, I always danced in a pathetic way (as certain psycho that works at mergers and adquisitions) to his songs, they're catchy and have a beautiful rhythm, even if they're not his songs actually, because we all know that Elvis kind of... stole the music and way to sing from the culture afro-american artists that wouldn't ever came to the the light because.. well, the 50's you know? Racism? You know? It was kind of good anyways, because thanks to Elvis this rhythm and this music became known and it was a nice new thing..

Since I started talking about Elvis Let's say what I think about the 2022 movie. First of all, I didn't  knew Luhrman work, so I was close to a mervous collapse the first seconds of the movie because of so many movements and stuff until I got used, which is not a bad thing! I enjoyed that way of showing stories, and for a guy like Elvis, all that production and visual effects are simply perfect, it is a really good looking movie in that exaggerated kind of hollywood star way and I adored it. If we go to the trama, is basically the whole movie showing us how the industry and that shitty coronel ruined him, but what probably killed him was those pills that he started to take 24/7 and drived him to a quite awful place, plus the whole Las Vegas deal that the Coronel made basically sending Elvis as a slave. The acting nice, even if Austin Butler keeps complaining about how he had to went to the hospital and how his voice changed so drastically, but who cares Austin, google The Machinist and check if Christian Bale did complain or anything for end up as a skelleton. So Elvis for me was probably a 8,5/10, because I really enjoyed it but some things about how things happen are maybe not too... accurate.

Now Priscila, I honestly never saw anything from Sofia Coppola, I know his dad. It is almost the opposite to Elvis, is quite a minimalist way with soft colors when there's some light and a full brown/black thing with basically no lights in a tense scene. I have to say that these lighs and shadows help a lot to understand that idea of lockdown and confinement that Priscila lived after move to Elvis house. Once thing of this movie that did bother me the whole hour? HOW SMALL PRISCILLA'S ACTRESS WAS AND HOW GIGANT ELVIS WAS, FOR GOD SAKE CALL POLICE 911 911 9111... I get the point she was 14 and he was 24, I get it, but she doesn't even looks 14 years old like, she looks like 10 years old!!!!... but, I get the point, it was a strange thing. Elvis is portrayed as a guy with some anger and manipulative episodes that used Priscilla as some kind of little doll for himself, not in a sexual way most of the times, more like when you're tired from a busy day and you lay on bed and you cuddle with a teddy bear, the thing was that Priscilla was a person and, no Elvis, that's not how relationships work, the teddy bear is actually a person that won't enjoy read about how many times you cheated on her with random hollywood girls. It's not a bad movie, I would say is quite... slow maybe? And has not like a point where you say "OH THAT WAS ALL!! I GET IT."... or maybe it has, and I have lack of empathy, who knows. The thing ends up with Priscila leaving him since that she noticed how life can be in a free way without depending of him, even if it hurts a lot. The funny thing I would like to say, in the Elvis movie, She's also who leaves him of course, but she doesn't seems so destroyed of hurt, Elvis is the one who feels awful, meanwhile in this one, Elvis is quite shocked and doesn't reacts too much, probably because he was too much on the pills and drugs stuff so.. you know. I liked the movie, but it didn't changed my life, I was hoping that Elvis wasn't the sweet and perfect guy from the commercials, so it is not like a big thing. And the thing about the age? Well.. that's an awful thing from the 50's that I always hated, at least he waited until her 18 for do stuff, even if they didn't make it too much because he wanted to keep his doll pure or something. Anyways, the movie was a 5.5/10 for me, mostly because of the slow rhythm..

That's all I guess.

I assessed the situation and now I'm leaving.
