i read an internet comment that shook the foundation of my world!! yowch!
the internet is a portal to minds unknown! sometimes that's terrible and awful, sometimes it's fantastical! but it always involves exposure!!
it's still helpful tho
Specifically, like. I put a lot of stock into one subject and a lot of trust into something. I put a TOOOOON of myself into reading and learning and putting my good faith into it. I really trusted the people talking about it. But one single comment online has really taken me and disillusioned me. They said something that I know is true, way more true than the people who make a living off talking about the subject, and my ego really wanted to resist, to push back and say "no, I'm right! I can't be wrong!"
But I am. In a hopeful capacity, I was wrong.
It's not easy to admit you've been taken for a ride by shysters, especially to a stranger on the internet who saw through me in a second. In a way, the shysters I followed are just as innocent as me and taken advantage of as well. They know, or rather knew, just as little as I did. It's the blind leading the blind out there.
