Altered Post: Alan Wake 2 and the Last of Us 2 (or Why I believe Joel should've died in the middle)

Alan Wake 2 has been out for a few months at this point, and with the stuff about The Last of Us 2 Remastered, I thought maybe I should give some thoughts about this, just a small thing tho, I never played Last of Us 2, but I have read the story, and well, It could've been better, So lemme just get this one out of the way first, I don't really care if you like or hate either of these two IPs, granted that they're pretty different things, and yes, I can acknowledge the best and worst between the two, for example, I could say that The Last of Us' gameplay's kinda boring but you could say the same thing about Alan Wake 2's gameplay, but this isn't about the gameplay, it's for the stories. and you can call me biased, but I'm pretty sure Last of us has oddly more flaws then Alan Wake's, the first one being the death of Joel, I'd say spoilers but i'm pretty sure this is a very open book at this point, he should've died in the middle, I feel like when It came to Joel's death, it wasn't really fleshed out, like, you could at least have a few scenes with Joel and Ellie before he gets the Hole-in-One treatment, or at least have a few playable segments with him in it for that nostalgia stuff for the old fans and lastly, give Joel the time for the newer people to get invested in before and I mean BEFORE you off him for that revenge plot with Ellie, and do you wanna know how Alan Wake managed to invest YOU into the story? simply put, the mystery, and specifically who this Alan Wake person is via the Bookers being at cauldron lake in the beginning, and having limited knowledge of the missing writer himself, granted, could've been a little more info, but it's better then what Druckmann tried to do, and secondly, just, do what Alan Wake 2 did with the dual protagonist and have them both playable at the same time, or just have separate campaigns for the two characters, so you can see both perspectives a bit better, that way you can have two different tones WITHOUT restarting the story and basically ruining your own plot pyramid aka the one basic guideline of writing a story, unfortunately, Druckmann thought his ego was better then logic and the result is a divide greater then the one in the US, overall, I'm willing to bet that if this was how it went via the switching protagonist in your own time like Alan Wake 2 and fixing the pacing of the story, the Last of Us 2 wouldn't been so divided, I mean, yes, revenge is bad, and I admire their attempt to take a story to a whole new direction, but honestly? I'd rather have MGSV as the better revenge story, not Druckmann's attempt, and the result? Druckmann attending some awards show and no one giving a single shit, and if I had to play the last of us 2? I'd give more attention to the Gameplay the next time I do a review on it one day.
